I bought the white lamp for sewing and quilting, and it's EXCELLENT. It's clamped on to a 15/16 inch thick surface, and holds very securely. The front of the clamp will open to the 2.4 inches mentioned in the listing, but I don't think it would hold securely for a surface much thicker than 2 inches. I can work the clamp with one hand, but prefer using both. (The white and black versions of this lamp both appear to have this clamp, however the carbon-black does NOT, and also has a different neck. It seems to be a different product.)The gooseneck is very flexible, yet holds its position perfectly. The light ring can swivel on the neck, so I can get the light EXACTLY where I want it. I'm using the full brightness on the middle color-temp setting, because I like the look of the light better, and it seems to be a bit brighter than either the warm white or the cool white alone. This is bright enough for my 58-year-old eyes, with contacts and reading glasses, to comfortably see black thread on black fabric.FULL DISCLOSURE: I'm also using an older version (2007-ish) of the Bendable Bright Light on one of my machines. I ***TOTALLY*** love this little thing, and would recommend it to anyone who thinks there's no such thing as too much light for tiny detail. However the bright spot is very small, so adding this ring lamp was really helpful.When I take my project off the machine for handwork or "un-sewing", I can easily bend and swivel the lamp to shine on my lap, or wherever I'm working.After the light has been on for awhile, the outer edge of the light ring, and the back surface, get really warm, but wouldn't burn you. The LED surface doesn't get nearly as warm.I just bought a second white lamp, for projects in my garage, under-sink plumbing repairs, and wherever else I might need it. It's good illumination for webcam sessions, and would make a great reading-in-bed lamp / night light, too.

Great product

Looking for a bight lamp for my work bench that is flexible. It was great to find one that was long enough to cover the surface of my desk. It has three light mode which I wasn't expecting but very nice to have. It comes with a remote as well and so I can leave that by the door. It also has a built-in timer to turn off the light 30 - 60 minutes which is helpful. You can even dim the lamp. Does not get very hot like my other lamps. Easy to clamp on any sides surface that has a ¾" edge. The only issue I had was the power plug. It sticks out and if your desk is against a wall it can bend and break off. I wish the had a right angle plug for it instead. There are controls on the base of the lamp as well but there doesn't seem to be a way to set the timer from there.

This LED desk clamp light is both simple to assemble, and operate. The included remote control does require two AAA batteries. The adjustibity of LED light which ranges from a high intensity white light output, down to a low intensity softer yellow light output

These lights are handy everywhere .

Okay first off I had to return this light because the clamp did not work for my desk I needed a clip-on but this is a very high quality light and it was so sad returning it. I wish I had a different option for setup and I would have a thousand percent kept it but didn't work out for me but I do highly recommend it was a great size and it was super super high quality lighting.

Exactly what my wife needed for her new makeup vanity. Works very well, light weight, easy to install, good value.

I love the light variation in brightness and color. Buttons are very reactive.
