It has an additional "GA-FC Expand Mode" to make up for the lack of GA-FC.

I purchased this back in January and initially it worked great. Offered more versatility than the GA-FC since you can switch between different effects on a given bank in addition to just turning them on and off. Additionally, it's a cheaper option and more space efficient. About a month ago, however, it stopped working. The pedal came on but would not control my Katana. It never left my house and was always in a climate controlled environment. I contacted customer service via email and after trouble shooting we came to the conclusion that the USB-C port on the pedal was broken. The rep asked for my original order number and address and within a few days I received a brand new pedal. Now, this process took a couple weeks to complete. I'm on the east coast of the US and, wherever their customer support is, they were replying to me between midnight and 2 am my time. This meant every step of the process required a day to complete. Every question asked, every "try this now." This isn't a knock on Xsonic, just an FYI to anyone who might run into an issue. Be patient and work with them and they'll take care of you.

Game changer! If you have a Boss katana 50 MK11 this is the pedal you want! It makes life so much easier specially for IOS users who have to use katana librarian this unlocks so much and makes it hands free it also means you do not need a Widi uhost anymore as this acts as your host for Bluetooth between the phone and the amp performance is flawless it’s fast reaction time very simple to set up and all that just absolutely 5 stars all the way around makes everything easier and better!

It’s a great product generally, and I won’t bother to re-list all of the features here. I will say that build quality is excellent. And a Boss Katana 50 Mk Ii amp it’s a complete game changer if you’re playing live (which I frequently do). Unlocks so many more features of the amp and effectively gives you more than the standard four channels. That’s because it lets you cycle through extra/different preset variables/ sounds under the each of the boost, mod and FX settings on each of the four channels. For example, on Channel 1, you can start out with a clean (or no) boost setting and then toggle through up to three of the numerous other boost settings on the amp.

Wasted my money on this! The USB C port is so cheaply made that within a week it needed to be 'in just the right position' to work. Within another week it stopped working completely and actually just fell right off! No HELP at all from the manufacturer too! The connection with the app also a little wonky at times. It was fantastic when it was actually working but unfortunately it's completely useless now. Great concept and but extremely poor execution. I'm not kidding, I contemplated buying another one to see if it was just a problem with the one I received but I can't fathom wasting more money just for the same thing to happen again, since I've seen a few reviewers saying the same thing! I've decided to sell my katana amp and buy a reactor amp + reactor control footswitch, all because the Katana 50 doesn't have any good options for Footswitches.

Makes editing patches on my Katana Mkll 100w much faster and easier. It is more compact and functional for stage use than the ga-fc, not to mention being half the price or less. If the airstep kat had been available when I was buying the amp, I might have given more consideration to the 50 watt version. I like the Katana Librarian app better than the Tone Lab Studio on my laptop - seems much more user friendly…easier to experiment with. I highly recommend the Airstep Kat.

I purchased this pedal to go with my Katana Artist 100 II. It is far more versatile than the available Boss pedals and adds Bluetooth connectivity! Fully charge the pedal. Download the firmware updater app. Update the firmware and you're good to go. All the cables you need to connect the pedal to the amp are included. Charging cable included but not charger. Plenty of good "how to" videos on YouTube to get familiar with its use. Very happy with this purchase. I purchased an APOKE Travel Case for Revlon One Step Hair Dryer Brush Original 1.0 & PLUS 2.0 case ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B099ZF8LLX ) that fits the pedal pretty well. See attached pix. A couple of pieces of foam I had around the house tightened up the fit.

The only thing I’d like to see added in a future release would be corresponding color changes to the fx slots on the amp and just slightly faster channel switching. Other then that I wouldn’t change a thing about this for the price. Along with boss tone studio now working for iOS and being able to connect to the katana through the airstep, no katana user should be without the airstep.

This is a brilliant addition for Katana owners, particularly Katana 50 owners who don't have access to Boss' own pedal. Allows easy switching between preset channels, and easy ability to turn on and off pedals within each channel. Really opens up the 'on the fly' usability of the Katana. Plus you can link to a couple of apps to allow channel editing wirelessly, a real game changer meaning less requirement to plug into the pc. Comes with all the necessary cables, and feels very well built, feel of unit and button switches feel very solid. Even comes with stickers so you can customise labels so you know what you're turning off and on. It's a real game changer. Only minor criticims I'd have is same buttons that have 2 functions operated by a long and short press could be more intuitive, and you end up swiching to the channel selectors when trying to turn on and off reverb but you get used to it fairly quickly. In later versions they could get round this by adding a sixth button. Quick delivery and in my opinion excellent value for money
