What does 'Extra Virgin' mean for this spicy olive oil?

'Extra virgin' means the oil is obtained solely from mechanical processes, without chemical refining. It represents the highest quality olive oil, with superior taste and aroma. It's a testament to the excellence of pure, unadulterated olive juice.

What is the difference between Extra Virgin Olive Oil and olive oil?

Extra virgin olive oil must possess specific chemical and sensory characteristics, including color, aroma, consistency and acidity, which by law must not exceed 0.8%. Whereas olive oil is a blend composed of chemically extracted oil and virgin oil.

How should I store this hot chili extra virgin olive oil to maintain its quality and keep it at peak taste?

Oxidation can occur when the oil is exposed to air and light. To avoid oxidation tightly seal the bottle and store it in cool, dark and odor-free places. Our EVOO comes in a dark glass bottle and an anti-waste cap safeguarding it from air and light.

What does 'cold pressed' hot olive oil mean?

Cold pressed means extracting oil from olives without high heat or chemicals. It involves mechanically pressing or crushing olives at temperatures below 80°F. This process preserves flavors, aromas and nutrients resulting in high-quality chilli oil.

Why does extra virgin olive oil have a peppery sensation?

The peppery sensation in extra virgin olive oil is due to natural antioxidants called polyphenols. They contribute to its unique flavor, providing a pleasant, slightly spicy taste. The intensity varies based on olive variety and ripeness at harvest.
