The best solution Iโve found for IBS-C after a long search
I believe this is helpful for some types of IBS. I have IBS-C, and occasionally go for days without a satisfying BM; after a time I have symptoms of inflammation so intense I can feel the heat in my colon, feels like the Sahara desert, dead, hot as an oven, and dry. This cools things down, I feel the difference the same day, and can help you achieve a normal BM. I have found the relief may not persist, itโs not a miracle cure, but a product to keep around and use on an as-needed basis. One negative point - if you have GERD or dyspepsia peppermint can be an irritant, which is why I go for the enteric coated products. I occasionally get reflux after Iโve taken this product, but canโt definitively attribute the symptoms to this alone; I love coffee, buffalo wings, chocolate, and beer, all potential culprits. Sometimes after taking these, however, I can feel it in the back of my throat, suggesting that the enteric coating is not 100% effective; maybe a function of how acidic my stomach was at the time. It can be bad enough that I can no longer swallow food in the middle of a meal, and I have to get up and walk it off until the alarming pain goes away. So I took away one star, it has its pros and cons.Update: after further use, and comparing to the popular Solaray product, I need to upgrade my experience with IBGard, it really is the best, and the results have been more positive than anything Iโve tried for my bowel issues. I believe the design is perfect, and seems to actually release the peppermint oil where you need it most, for the most part, despite the occasional peppermint burp. The Solaray product is stronger, less likely to dissolve in your stomach, and has additional bowel-soothing oils, however after using both over time I believe the effects are better with IBGard, and with fewer adverse side effects. Some of the ingredients in the Solaray product do not agree with me, and may not agree with you, everyone is different. Quercetin, for example, can cause headaches, and since it appears in so many products that risk is often compounded; and chamomile may make you feel sedated. Both are good, but IBGard gets the 5 stars.

Physician and IBS sufferer here
Physician with IBS-D here. My experience with this product has been very good. The next day after taking it for the first time I had my first normal BM in many, many months. I've found Heather's Tummy Tamers to work well also but these seem to have a better enteric coating on them. If taken on an empty stomach and with not too much water, I get no minty reflux at all. The price is more than Heather's, but I'll pay more to avoid the reflux. For those wondering about it, the reflux is because peppermint oil is a smooth muscle relaxant. That's how it works in the gut -- the gut wall is smooth muscle, and in IBS it is contracting too much or too forcefully or not in a patterned way. However, the gastroesophageal sphincter is also smooth muscle, and that is what prevents reflux. Relax it with peppermint and you get reflux. Enteric coatings work by not dissolving in an acidic environment -- like your stomach. However, if you dilute your stomach acid with food or beverage while the peppermint capsule is in there, then the coating will dissolve and you will get the reflux. Hence, take your enteric coated peppermint, whether this product or heather's, 30 minutes to an hour before eating, using enough water be sure you got it down and no more. The "number needed to treat" for peppermint oil for IBS is very low -- around 2.5. That means for every 5 people treated with peppermint oil, 2 will experience benefit. That may sound like a not-so-good number, but actually in pharmacology that is a very good NNT. For comparison, the NNT for prescription antispasmodics like Bentyl and Levsin is in the 3-7 range, which is also quite good, but compare those numbers to something like Xifaxan which has an NNT of 11 and costs $900-1,800 per month and you begin to appreciate that peppermint oil is winner. And with a low cost and low side effect profile, it's almost impossible to beat from a cost/side effect/NNT combined perspective.Give peppermint oil a try. Try Heather's first if you don't have any problems with reflux as Heather's is much cheaper. IBS is multifactorial. If peppermint oil doesn't help you, then gut hypermotility or dismotility is not your problem and you will need to try something else -- FODMAP diet, prebiotics, probiotics, and EXERCISE (that one is for everyone no matter what, of course). If it helps a little, you will need something else in addition to it. And for some lucky folks, this is all you will need.

IBgard has really helped me
I was diagnosed with IBS a couple of years ago. My Gastroenterologist recommended I try this or another peppermint oil supplement before trying prescription remedies. She specifically suggested to try IBgard, first. I did and it really helped. It did not cure my issues but provided relief of my symptoms for most of the time and I have felt a lot better since. Two capsules with each meal and I have had only occasional issues since starting using the product. Not saying it will solve everybody's IBS issues, but it may help and is worth a try.

solid natural option
Iโve been dealing with frequent heartburn and was looking for a natural alternative to ease the discomfort without relying solely on medication. IBgard Peppermint Oil Capsules turned out to be a surprisingly effective option. The cooling sensation really helps soothe the burning feeling, and it noticeably reduces cramping during flare-ups. While it doesnโt completely replace prescription meds for more severe episodes, itโs a great supplement to have on hand for milder symptoms or as a preventative measure.I appreciate that itโs gentle on the stomach and doesnโt cause any unpleasant side effects. The capsules are easy to take, and Iโve noticed a difference in overall gut comfort since starting them. Itโs not a miracle cure, but itโs a solid natural support for digestive health. If youโre looking for something to complement your current regimen or reduce reliance on stronger meds, this is worth trying. Iโll definitely keep it in my rotation.

It Really Works & Works Well
I was diagnosed with IBS several years ago, and while not severe or always present, the flare ups can be miserable for days and sometimes weeks. I was prescribed Dicyclomine and have had limited success with it.I approached the purchase of this product with some skepticism, but thought I would try it. So very glad I did. With regular use this product has virtually ended my IBS flare-ups, and another great benefit is that I no longer require the prescription med. For me this was a huge benefit because wherever I can, and whenever possible, I'm always anxious to replace prescription meds with something natural and more gentle. If you purchase this product I encourage you to be patient with it. For me took awhile to work. You won't take these and experience immediate relief of your symptoms. It was several weeks before I noticed a marked difference, and I'm now beyond six months without a single IBS flare-up.

I keeping buying them
I love these pills, I've got IBD and IBS and these are the only thing that has consistently for years helped settle my stomach. They are a little on the pricy side, but I keep buying because nothing has compared to them.

Not economical or affordable enough to justify continuing purchasing.
I've gotten a couple packs of these, but the price is just too expensive to continue buying them. 48 Capsules come in a pack, but you are supposed to take two at a time. Meaning, a whole pack won't last a full month. Now, the product itself worked for me. While not diagnosed with anything, I've always had digestive issues and wanted to give these capsules a try. They did seem to help. So if you can handle the expensive price, I'd recommend them I suppose.
