Fantasy Pet CMYW Cat Magnet

It is great.It is much better than any soft one. It does not fell apart. I like that the bristles are sharp, and the cat loves it. The cats do need good skin scratch, I think. Well, I can not force her to so it, she does it on her own. It is the best place when I need to brush her as it keeps her close by. Otherwise, when I brush her, she wanders around. She plays with it if I put some catnip on it.

i have now bought 2 of these. my cats really do use it a lot to groom on. it is worth buying but i wish the arch bristles would stay in the carpet base better. it can come out easily and it's difficult to get it back in. but, when it is in, it works great!

Sassy likes this! She rubs her cheeks and head on the brush portion and will even scratch her claws on the base (she prefers furniturebut will stoop to use this scratcher at times). The brush is very stiff and I thought she would not like it but she does! I have not seenher scratch her back on it yet but will keep watching.

I had been eyeing the Cat Magnet for quite some time. It seemed like a perfect idea and the price was not too bad. I had no trouble assembling the Cat Magnet and my 2 cats seemed very fascinated initially. But they quickly lost interest and the poor Cat Magnet has just been sitting there being neglected. All cat guardians know that cats can be very persnickety so it could be that they do not like the Cat Magnet itself or it could be that I just have not found the right placement for it. I'll try moving the Cat Magnet around some more and see if I can't get my 2 cats interested.Overall, the idea seems clever, the Cat Magnet itself seems to be made of sturdy materials, and it does not take up a lot of space but, unfortunately, my 2 cats are not interested at all. 3 Stars because a clever item is getting no use.

Spend your money on some better product. This is cr---er---garbage. When I opened the box and took out the 2 parts, a lot of carpet shreds also came out. Rubbing the carpeted base loosened even more. Then my cats (3) got to it, I spent a lot of time cleaning up. One of my cats does love it: she sticks her head under the brush and takes a nap. That's it. This is without a doubt the worst product I've purchased in well over a decade. The "fantasy" part of the name must refer to the buyers fantasy of it being worthwhile.

... Which is about as much of a ringing endorsement as any cat owner can give something designed for cats, by humans. (Lord knows, I've stopped buying toys and just bring home cardboard boxes from time to time, since my cats won't play with any actual cat toys.)My older cat likes to chew on the bristles, but while he'll rub his face on everything from dirty sneaker soles to banana peels, he only ever rubs his face on this thing when my younger cat decides to show an interest in it. Which is pretty much only when I sprinkle catnip on it.The Cat Magnet sure traps a lot of loose cat hair, but even if you have American shorthairs like mine, this is not a good substitute for regular brushings. Also, if your cats are as big as mine, they might accidentally "unplug" one end of the loop from time to time, and then you need to put oven mitts on to firmly plant the bristle back in place. So that's kind of a pain.

I actually bought this item before at my local Gordmans. My cats loved it so much they wore the thing down 4 years later so I had to scour the internet in hopes of finding a similar one. Well imagine my suprise to find the exact one. Brand and everything on Amazon. I put catnip on it and my cats made the switch to the new one overnight. My shorthair, Oliver, loves it. He rubs his face on it and sleeps on the carpet part. I don't have enough good things to say about it.

Got this for a cat that loved to be petted and brushed. He didn't really like it and I was really surprised! The bristles on the scratcher were a bit hard (he's a shorthair, maybe it would work better for a fluffier/longhair cat?), but it was sturdy and fit into the base without popping out!
