Can you go in a pool with them ?

I don’t see why not. They are washable and the pads are sewn in.

I want a slimmer look. Do I have to go down a size?

I don't think so. There is not much padding.

will this work for me? I have narrow hips and butt area. My butt is not too big but not flat either

It should work perfect for you and I totally recommend! I ordered a 2xl and fits perfect . I was buying for comfort and shape. Is true to size with the chart and true slimming and lifting I receive compliments like crazy and no one knows it's a fake buttock! I hope this helps!

Does this tummy control panties help with hip dips as well?

Yes, because it has a cushion, which gives it a butt lift.
