Excellent cooler
Great, vivid color! Well made, seams appear to be waterproofed. I have not had anything leak. The size is very generous, but not too big for me to carry. I would buy this again. Excellent value.

Comfortable, roomy, durable
Use for bikepacking lunch to work, and groceries home. I never go hungry with the room in the insulated compartment.I love keeping my cutlery contained in dedicated holders. The exterior top holder is great for a pack of personal wipes, an iPhone, small voice recorder, super balls, and other odds and ends. It’s deeper than it seems. The back exterior pockets I use for its rain bonnet. I got the Salzmann (sic) pack cover medium in orange and it fits. Snug, but dry.If I didn’t pack a ton of food for work I could fit in my rain gear, but the bike has a rack so we fill that bag with clothes. The shoulder straps are soft, roomy to get into (48” chest), yet still snug and unshifting without the chest strap hooked,The pack sits higher on my back than most of my others, which is good for bike commuting as I have a bike trunk bag (Ibera) that sits higher and rubs against lower packs (REI 40L hiking). No need yet, but I love the bottle opener. We sometimes have fancy cold sodas at work and they don’t all twist off.I’m too lazy to try to swap it, but the chest strap buckles left into right. I’m used to the other way so I guess it’s daily brain training.Randomly I love the blaze orange especially against the medium tone gray. Just looks cool to me.Based on another reviewer I stuck with this version instead of the newer one. It has more colors, allegedly better stitching, definitely enough capacity.

I now have a beer belly
Ice stays cold for hours. Easily transport it anywhere. The colors are awesome. The size is perfect. Great gift for people who like beer and being outside. I've started to drink more beer because of this amazing product. It's durable, and seems like it'll be my goto for years to come.

A decent, functional cooler backpack at a do-able price.
I actually bought this backpack on a whim because we had an extended trip planned in the blazing Florida heat, and it was crucial to keep things cold for our family's enjoyment. Lately, I've noticed a surge in the popularity of backpack-style coolers, so I thought it might be the solution we needed. If you've ever looked into backpack coolers, you know there are numerous brands and styles available at different price points. Initially, I had my sights set on some well-known brands, but the timing and cost didn't align. That's when I came across the offerings from Maelstrom.Let me start by saying I absolutely love the size of this backpack. During a recent outing, I easily packed four 32 oz stainless steel water bottles, a couple of cans of sparkling water, two bottles of Prime, two additional frozen water bottles, and a sack of food with fruit. I didn't even have to be strategic with my packing, thanks to the ample space in the bag, and everything stayed intact especially the fruit. One of the standout features of this bag is the abundance of pockets. Since we planned on being active outdoors, it often meant my shorts lacked the capacity to hold all the essentials like my phone, wallet, and keys. However, with this backpack, that concern was alleviated. There are pockets everywhere, easily accessible and within reach. What's more, there's even a hidden zipper pocket on the backside, which proved invaluable for keeping important items secure when navigating through crowds.Considering the amount of stuff I packed, the bag did get quite heavy. Thankfully, the straps are remarkably comfortable. They never dug into my shoulders, no matter the weight of the bag. Plus, there's a chest strap that adds an extra level of security. The only thing I wish it had, if possible, would be a waist strap or belt to make long carries even more comfortable. In terms of style, this bag blends in seamlessly with other backpacks. It doesn't scream "I'm a cooler" and lacks prominent branding that draws unnecessary attention. This discreet design makes it convenient and less awkward to carry anywhere and everywhere. Now, let's talk about its performance as a cooler. It fares pretty well, to be honest. Are there better coolers out there? Yes. Do I own some of them? Definitely. However, I subjected this bag to scorching 105°F heat for a full five hours, and everything inside stayed impressively cold. Towards the end, there was a slight warming effect, but I must admit, I didn't have the best ice packs at my disposal.Overall, I'm genuinely pleased with this purchase. It may not boast a widely recognized brand name, but the Maelstrom backpack cooler performs exceptionally well, especially considering its attractive price point. While there might be other backpack coolers on the market, this one strikes a great balance of functionality, features, and affordability.

Very good product and very high quality!
Why did you pick this product vs others?:Bought this for my husband to go fishing with; he is crazy about it! Loves everything about it!! Tons of space, lots of zippers and storage spaces. High quality doesn’t leak! I picked this brand because of the great reviews. Now, I understand why the reviews are so great!

Awesome cooler.
This cooler has paid for itself tenfold! This came in so handy for hiking through the sand to our spot on the beach. It fit all our drinks and lunch items with ease. We used ice packs instead of actual ice so we wouldn’t have to deal with a melted mess and our food/drinks stayed nice and cold. Great insulation. Also used it on a boat outing with the same results. Super functional. Highly recommend!

Solid, super useful! It goes on all my trips.
I've really enjoyed this product, great for the beach! It will leak eventually if you put straight ice in it but it holds up better than most.

Great value for a quality cooler backpack
Great purchase! I was shopping the other big names (i.e. expensive) and saw the positive reviews for this much less expensive option and figured I’d give it a try as it had all the features I was looking for. I took it to the beach yesterday and loaded it with a bag (of already melting) ice and drinks. After 8 hours on a very hot beach day I still had some ice left at the end of the day and our drinks were still very cold. No leakage at all either. The backpack seems very well constructed and was comfortable. For a fraction of the cost of the well-known cooler backpacks, this is an absolute buy. I rarely write reviews, but was so impressed by this cooler (and thrilled with the extra $100+ I didn’t spend) that I had to spread the word.
