THE EKLUND DIFFERENCE: 1. HIGHLY CONCENTRATED FORMULA High concentration means fewer pills per day. Each capsule of Eklund Essential Omega contains 800 mg. of Omega 3 Fatty Acids, including 430 mg. of EPA and 290 mg. of DHA, which means more Omega 3 benefits with fewer pills. 2. TRUE TRIGLYCERIDE FORM MEANS BETTER ABSORPTION Clinical studies indicate that Triglyceride Form fish oil is absorbed up to 70% better than ordinary "ethyl-ester" fish oils. This was confirmed in a landmark 2010 study by Dr. Jorn Dyerberg, who many consider to be the "father" of Omega 3 Nutrition. 3. BETTER DIGESTION Research indicates that Triglyceride Form fish oil is better tolerated and more easily digested than cheaper "ethyl-ester" fish oil. Eklund customers rarely encounter the bloating, belching, and fishy reflux that is a common side effect of cheaper brands. 4. UNSURPASSED PURITY Triple Molecular Distillation and rigorous testing by respected third party labs mean you can be confident our fish oil surpasses all international standards for purity. 5. FORMULATION Eklund Essential Omega provides 430 mg. of EPA and 290 mg. of DHA in every capsule, making it an ideal choice for Heart, Triglycerides, Inflammation, and Mood Support, in addition to Seniority, Cognition, and Eye Health. 6. From the southern hemisphere...far from Fukushima...
Very similar to Nordic Naturals, which is also sourced from Norway and the southern Peruvian coast. Both are pharmaceutical grade fish oil and both have flavoring (lemon for NN and lemon-lime per E's actual label.)Eklund seems comparable to the NN brand at 2/3 the price. Both are sourced from the same locale, and Eklund's actually has higher mg's of EPA/DHA per softgel.I do detailed research on any vitamins and supplements I consume, and also follow RWM's professional-level brand comparisons. As a retiree, cost is now of critical importance and I can definitely recommend Eklunds...as long as you do NOT have any issues with the citrus flavorings. Personally, I discovered that I do, and both NN and E brands disturb my digestion with an irritating backlash...like I'm drinking a fizzy lemon-lime soda with my meal. For that reason, I have stopped taking them but my house-mate has no such issues and loves them.So far, my favorite has been Nutrigold Omega-3 Gold (taking one with each meal.) With those I might have a rare small burp, but any fishy taste is so miniscule as to be almost unnoticeable. And my skin, joints, and brain loved the stuff! I am returning the Eklund's and going back to Nutrigold, though I will now start monitoring ANY fish-oils I take for increased radiation. PLEASE NOTE the following new info re post-Fukushima IFOS testing:"The addition of radiation to the IFOS(tm) testing program is just one of the recent upgrades the program has implemented to better serve both consumers and the fish oil industry. As of January 1st, 2015, all samples submitted for testing will have radiation added to the Consumer Report. All customers will be transitioned from now until the end of 2014 as required."

is that my skin looks better.. younger
I find it difficult to assign subtle health changes to any one element. That being said, my first impression of this product (having tried others) is that I didn't experience any fishy aftertaste. My second impression: After a couple of weeks I felt that a slight vertigo I had been experiencing (I am 78) had disappeared. I can't say for sure, why. . but taking the Eklund Fish Oil was the only change I had made to my diet. A final benefit, mentioned by others, is that my skin looks better. . younger! I plan to continue!!

$0.50 per day for 2 pills (lasts 90 days), or $0.31 per day for 1 pill (last 180 days)?
Very disappointed, though it's my fault. I looked at the nutritional information that says "Serving size one softgel." I did not look closely enough at what I would get in one softgel - just 800 mg of Omega-3. At that time for some reason I was unable to find what I really wanted - Nutrigold Triple Strength Omega-3 Fish Oil Supplement, 2100 mg, 180 Softgels - so I bought this without, as I said, properly examining it. Since you need to take 2 of these, the price is nearly $0.50 per day, as opposed to $0.31 for Nutrigold, too, and the bottle lasts only half as long.

It's all about Quality...
After hours of research and comparing many different brands of fish oil, I discovered 2 essential criteria a fish oil needs to meet.First, it must be in its natural Triglyceride form, which has been shown to be the most efficient form of fish oil.Second, it must undergo extensive and consistent testing for any toxins that can naturally accumulate in live fish, along with testing for freshness. The Eklund brand of fish oil has the highest quality control standards I've seen so far, plus it's the preferred Triglyceride form of fish oil.If your thinking about switching to Eklund, try this quick test. Simply go to your current brand's website and read about how their fish oil meets the two criteria I mentioned above, then go to the Eklund website and do the same. The difference in quality will probably surprise you!I hope this helps quicken your search for the healthiest fish oil on the market today!

Amazing! Natural triglyceride form (TG) plus 430 mg of EPA and 290 mg of DHA in each capsule!
I've done all the comparison shopping; I've searched and searched, and finally found these little gems. There are lots of fish oil capsules on the market but none of them have the same highly concentrated amount of omega-3 fatty acids per capsule in it's natural triglyceride form. These Eklund Essential Omegas are the clear winner! Hallelujah. What does this mean? It means you can get the optimal 2.4 gram daily dose in just three capsules, AND because the oil is in it's natural triglyceride form, it is much easier for your body to digest and use those omega-3s. (Because of the TG form, you can take them with or without food.) And added plus - no "fishy" burps either. Of course, there are cheaper fish oil capsules around, but if you're trying to get the maximum benefit of the omega-3's, you'll have to take 8 or 12 (or even more) capsules per day. Suddenly, those fish oil "bargains" are costing you a small fortune.

Good Alternative for Ultimate Omega
I switched over to this product from Ultimate Omega with Vitamin D3 - Nordic Naturals. This product is working pretty good and I don't see any difference in the 2 products (no Vitamin D3). I take it along with COQ10 to control my BP and so far it seems to be doing the job. This seems to be equally good with no side effects or bad burps and is reasonably priced compared to Ultimate omega. The strength, size and quality of these capsules seem to be very good. The only drawback is it does not contain any Vitamin D and wish the company manufactured them with the Vitamin D option. I will continue to use this and will post later based on the extended usage.

Love this fish oil
I have taken a relatively high dose of fish oil for several years for it's many health benefits; heart health, mood and anti-inflammatory properties. I have arthritis and it seems to help more than other things in my case. Taking so much fish oil over an extended time makes it very important that I purchase very high quality, purified and highly concentrated fish oils. I like Ecklund because it is of the highest quality, has no fishiness and costs less than other comparable pharma grade fish oils. It compares favorably to Nordic Naturals, which my doctor recommends and sells at her office but Ecklund costs less. I have switched to Ecklund Essential Omega.
