these absorb oxygen which consists of 20% of the atmosphere inside your storage buckets. 2 of them are needed for items with a lot of airspace such as macaroni, 1 can be used in stuff like rice which takes up more airspace inside the bucket. After you open these you need to use them all or reseal the bag with a vacuum sealer. If you do not have a vacuum sealer, prepare your 5 gallon buckets and fill with food, then open the pack of oxygen absorbers and quickly put 1-2 per bucket (depending on what you are storing) and then quickly put your lids on. If there is a lot of air in the bucket, after a few hours you will notice the bucket start to cave in a little, this is normal as oxygen makes up about 20% of the air, and it will make a vacuum if you have a good seal on the lid. A bucket full of rice or flour which do not leave much air will not cave in, but stuff like macaroni noodles will since there is a bunch of airspace in the bucket.

I bought these on 2 separate occasions, realized a few days after my first purchase I’d actually need more. I also ordered different sizes from a couple other sellers. So with that being said everything came in. Both purchases made for the 2000cc Arrived on different days and BOTH with no care or concern to packaging so that it arrives uncompromised. All my other packages and sizes arrive and w/care and concern to make sure this particular product arrives uncomprimised.

Most of the absorbers worked fine. Some did not work at all. These are good for doing bulk work but use 2 to make sure. I now use a product where each absorber is individually sealed. Great for beginners.

Oxy Free came in when expected and at a reasonable price. I have been using them to seal rice and flour in 5 gal. buckets. The bags are easy to seal, we use an iron and the oxy free appears to create a vaccum in the bag after it is sealed. I would give an update in 5 years, but reality dictates I will probably forget.

Used this to put in some emergency rice food storage. Absorbs the oxygen in the food container thereby extending the shelf life of your emergency stores. Hard to find in stores, but easy to find on Amazon and I never left the couch except to retrieve the package from the porch. Problem solved with out any hassles.

A good preparation item! Along with their corresponding Mylar Bags, the Oxygen Absorbers are a must to have items. Even if you do not yet have the things to fill into the bags, get them, at least you are ready for long term stocking up of your favorite food items when you decide to start your preparations shopping!

A general internet search will reveal that this is a good purchase. I used these to seal some buckets I had packaged for rice. They worked perfect. One thing to remember is once you open the package, you have to use them all, since they are not individually wrapped.

Good product but I wish the would make the CC's on the package, if you mixed them up theirs no way to tell after the fact.

I used the absorbers properly with Mylar bags but they did not work, and I could not find any tears in the packaging they came in.

Works great for the food I'm storing in my five gallon buckets.
