Buy yourself one you will love it.
very well made with materials that will last a lifetime itโs big and comfortable to sleep in and if you donโt zip it up you can sleep in it in sixty degree temperatures with out getting too hot but once you zip it up get ready you will stay warm itโs very insulated itโs probably not for summer but you can use it like a blanket to sleep on top of if you unzip it all the way itโs a big heavy bag so itโs not really what you would want for backpacking but itโs the nicest sleeping bag iโve ever had for sure when the power goes out in the winter i know ill stay warm at night for sure.

Great materials, no chemical smell
It says -25 but I (155lbs, M) at 20 deg f. had to wear sweat pants and a thermal shirt but man o'man once you get warm the whole thing retains and helps builds heat very well, so I could imagine 15 deg f. would still be comfortable with 0 deg f. being as low as I would want to go with this thing, but with more layers to my sleeping attire or wearing more pelts of my enemies. The materials are top notch with an amazing zipper to boot, really nice build quality, large and thick. I bet a Sasquatch could unzip it just fine if your into that sort'a thing. Another nice feature to note is if your around my height of 5'6, if it gets too toasty you will have those nice cold pockets to slip your feet into because of how roomy it is. Heck, in a pinch I bet a person of similar stature and weight would fit. This thing is NOT for hiking though, it pretty much weighs just about 15lbs and is large but comes with three attached straps to help with packing it up. I did notice that one of my straps doesn't hold very well but I'm planning on having a family member tailor some better ones on anyhow, most bags in my experience have ok to crap straps so it's not a huge deal breaker for me. Oh and back to the weight and size of the blanket, it's larger than most weighted blankets but at about 15lbs and waaaay cheaper with a higher build quality. I use this thing as a comforter in the winter now and it improves my sleep quite a bit. All in all I'm incredibly impressed with this sleeping bag. Buy at least one or two so you can store one in your car in case you're ever stranded in cold weather, I'd imagine this would be awesome for that.

ALPS OutdoorZ Redwood Minus 25 Degree Sleeping Bag/ 2018, Still Going Strong
UPDATE 1/8/2018- This sleeping bag is the VERY BEST of the many (8-10) bags I own, although my RA has continued to progress, I still love the N.E.Wyoming Black Hills for winter camping, after 5 1/2 years this is not only my camping bag, it is used as my comforter on my bed here at the ranch, Big Thanks ALPS for a Very High Quality Sleeping bag- Happy Back Woods I will state that after investigating "ALPS" outdoor equipment , that EVERY website had mostly positive reviews, their customer service is top notch, when I had a concern about this "ALPS OutdoorZ Redwood Minus 25 Degree " sleeping bag (whether it would fit with extra room in their "Jagged Peak" 4 season tent) I received a answer within a few days (they discontinued the "Jagged Peak" for reasons unknown- it is a great winter tent) back to ALPS OutdoorZ Redwood Minus 25 Degree sleeping bag- I would highly recommend this very comfortable and warm bag for all winter camping , I live on the family Ranch in extreme N.E.Wyoming and suffer from severe RA, the extreme cold allows me freedom from most pain (-10 to -30) and I have always been an avid outdoor woodsman, so when "Old Man Winter" starts showing up here in the backwoods- I load up my K-2500 w/ my camping cargo box (48" x 24" x 20" deep) it holds everything except this bag, and head out to the "back 200 acres" and set up camp, knowing that without a doubt I will get a warm nights sleep, this bag has top quality materials, the zipper is tough nylon (a size #10 I think) The lining is not over soft flannel, but very comfortable and it does cling to wool socks, the outer canvas is "Tough as Nails" and it has 3 very strong tie straps with top quality adjustable clips (male into female type) I first used this in September of 2013 and it was too warm, I left it half opened, that winter when the temps dropped to -20 in February, I set up for a solid week of "Nature at Her Finest" I was very pleased with OutdoorZ (as well as the "Jagged Peak") I'll admit I did cheat with 2 "Coleman Sportcat" propane heaters in the small tent, with the wind blowing (as it does most of the time in Wyoming) at 20 - 30 mph and wind chill near -53 at night, the tent was 10 above 0, but I was WARM, at 55 yrs. young , I look forward to any enjoyment I can get , for this crippled up backwoodsman, it is being with Nature at her extremes, my 78 yr. mom, said to my daughter "I don't worry about your Dad, he knows how to survive in any weather extreme" - That is due to the very well made "ALPS OutdoorZ Redwood Minus 25 Degree Sleeping Bag" - I wanted to wait a few years before posting this review, so I could "run this bag thru the mill" Thanks Very Much To ALPS for such fine equiptment and To Amazon for selling such a High Quality Product at a price that even a crippled up "not so Old" man can afford

Worth the Money
MyOutdoors.net reviewed the ALPS Outdorz Redwood sleeping bag and rated it five stars, I couldn't agree more. This canvas, flannel lined sleeping bag is rated to negative twenty-five degrees! It is so warm, I often have to open it to cool off (not being in -25 degree temps). This bag is superb quality which explains the price. The zipper is plastic but it is thick (see photo) It's a little heavier than other sleeping bags at thirteen pounds but that is due to the insulation that keeps you warm! The dimensions when rolled up are 21.3 x 16.9 x 16.7 inches. If you camp up North or love ice fishing or you're going on an expedition to the North Pole; this is the sleeping bag for you!

BIG HEAVY WARM Sleeping Bag (**NOT for backpacking!**)
We have one of the green -10ยฐ bags and two of these tan -25ยฐ bags. Have used them all for for about 4+ years. Extremely happy with them overall. They are MUCH larger and heavier than the typical backpacker lightweight nylon bags. You are able to turn over and not feel restricted - and NO nylon "trash bag" type sounds when you do move. The flannel inside doesn't feel freezing when you first get in them. These are similar to the old school heavy canvas outer / soft flannel inner bags my dad had when we camped as kids. I sleep better knowing my kids are warm and comfortable in these bags even on the coldest nights out camping! My kids also seem to STAY IN these bags all night vs the nylon ones which they tend to shimmy out of throughout the night. We use them when winter camping out overloading in our roof top tent & ground tents - with night temps typically in the low 20's or 30's Fยฐ. Zippers & materials all work well and hold up great. Will buy more if needed. ***TAKE NOTE - these are NOT the bags you want for backpacking or if you have limited space - they are bulky and heavy!

Very cozy and soft. ๐คค๐ด
I bought this for camping in Colorado, and it does the job well. It's heavy duty, well built and a bit heavy, I think I'll be using this for years to come. ๐ช It was very warm, cozy, soft and I had some of the best sleep, camping, in a long time. ๐ฅฐ It's nice and big and I feel the weight was just right. It has a nice chunky zipper that probably will outlast time, and has the perfect sound, and it vents at the foot of the bag if you want. I paired my sleeping kit with a thermarest mattress which was heavenly. Highly recommend the bag, 10/10. ๐ค

Well built and hot
Very sturdy! Also keeps your very warm! The quality materials make a big difference. However, it doesnโt fold up that easily, and it doesnโt fold down small. High quality product overall, but I wish the straps made it a little easier to roll up and clip.

No regrets!
The price is hefty. But the quality is undeniable. Highly reccomended.

Mithral Armor for the Cold!! Nothing gets through.
Mithral Armor for the cold. Nothing gets through and it feels amazing. In warmer weather I roll it up with the canvas side out and use it for a body pillow. Astoundingly well built piece of gear. Top notch.

Winter Hunters Dream Bag!
Great product! My family does winter deer hunting every year in November. Typically the temperature hovers around -20 degrees C. We use a canvas tent with a wood stove and sometime the stove goes out. This bag is great quality and incredibly warm. And for those times the stove goes out. You will still be warm! Love this bag

This appears to be a classic very warm, comfortable sleeping bag in the traditional sense as it is manufactured with cotton canvas outer & cotton flannel liner. Breathable & warm!
