Better than the well known brand!
Tried this as the well known brand was OOS and Iโm so glad I did, it has a great flavour. My new go to for blue corn masa harina!

Lean tortillas
Awesome corn flour. I make tortillas for my tacos. I chose blue corn because it's the highest in protein and the lowest in carbs of all the corn varieties. It's a weight loss power move. Tortillas are a little more prone to falling part than white corn but it's not too bad if you handle them carefully. Also, thank the heavens it has the E number E529 in it! E529 is calcium oxide aka quicklime. If corn flour does not have quicklime in it, it's NOT masa harina and your tortillas will fall apart. I can't believe someone actually left this a 1 star review because it contains the very ingredient that it must, by definition as masa harina, contain. It's like leaving it a bad review because it contains corn.

Good value and speedy delivery
Got these for homemade tacos the flavour is different to yellow corn, easy to use but time consuming when making lots of tacos

Exceptionally Good Quality
More than a year later Ive gone back into my Amazon purchase history just to find this and leave a review. If youre wondering wether to get this or the Maseca brand, dont for the life of me by that version. I bought a 6 pack of it off mexicangrocer.com and its basically like plain cornmeal ground up, like corn flavoured sawdust. Big, big mistake. Dont be fooled by the positive reviews from people who have not tried this and think they have something good. This stuff however, I would literally pour 50-75g of it into a bowl and add only water and eat it like a porridge, and it tasted silky and flavoursome like I added milk. It legitimately tastes like its actually a cereal and its main purpose is for tortillas lol. I would add it into smoothies as well and make my own protein shakes with this being the carbs part. Tell you what, buy both. Buy this and try the Maseca, just to see the astonishing difference. You dont know until you know. This is premium compared to that. Maseca is dust compared to this.

Lovely slightly nutty flavour (my favourite) and makes great tortillas. I will be buying regularly.

A sticky issue
This masa has a pleasant flavour but absorbs less water than the PAN blanca and amarillo masa. It's also extremely sticky and sticks to the polythene tortilla press liner like glue. It is therefore, very difficult to work with and the end result is far less pliable. A good blast of water from a spray bottle whilst cooking helps soften the dark blue tortillas up a bit. However, I get similar flavours and less hassle from PAN amarillo masa, so I'll "stick" with that.
