Aurora Model Kits: With Polar Lights, Moebius, Atlantis

I have all of the previously issued histories of plastic models kit manufacturers by Tom Graham. The originals were and still are great sources of information to those with interests in plastic modeling since early days in the 1930s to the present. This book on AURORA products has taken the original issue and updated it with a bit more info discovered about the origins of the Aurora Corporation from its' inception to demise, and includes the background history of what became of the production molds and about the plastic model kit producers who have reissued and in many cases improved the original kits from those molds as well as recreations of such items to reproduce kits long thought lost by modelers when Aurora folded its' tents. Certainly the book repeats the info from the original publication, but in the majority of cases, new material has been added as well as new (and in many cases), color photos are used to illustrate the text. Overall, the book is longer in text, thus more pages. A well done effort, as were the original publications. The reader need not fear that the book is just a rehash of the original. I plan to add the Revell and Monogram corporation history books to update my originals. A good value for the cost and certainly the scope of the subject.

Very impressed with the book. Well illustrated. Especially the Universal Monster section. The history of the models was interesting. My boyfriend wished it would've been all monsters . So glad he was able to acquire this book. We even found a T-shirt and a comforter with the Aurora Box covers printed on them. (From a company called,"Socierty6") This book is a must for all Aurora fans.

There are several books available on Aurora Models but the others are very very pricey. This soft cover version is a real bargain and is loaded with great pictures, information and comments from many of Aurora's employees and designers.Good Read!

Great history lesson.

Great book if you love Aurora kits. Even if you have one or more of the earlier books, this one includes enough new info, some pictures and write-ups that you might want to buy it. I did and I'm glad I did.

A thorough telling of the story with lots of great images. A must read for any fan of the subject.

Great overview of the Aurora company. Has photos of most of the Aurora models, planes, boats and monsters.

The most impressive thing about this book is Thomas knows what he is talking about. The book is not full of "some say...", "reports are..." etc. He reports the facts and provided me a lot of information to which I had no clue. Awesome work!
