My wife and I do the Renaissance Faire thing pretty regularly. As my family has a lengthy Scottish heritage, I like to wear a kilt sometimes. Hell, I just like wearing kilts anyway. They're super comfortable, and look great. But, I digress. Anyway, my personal favorite kilt is my Black Watch kilt. I thought it would be fun to get my wife one to match as well. I am glad I did.The quality of the skirt is very high, especially for the price. No, it's probably not as high a quality as you might find, but it's still great. Plus, I wasn't looking to pay $200 for something I wasn't 100% certain my wife would like (it was a gift). I would have not been disappointed if it had cost more, so for the price, I was thrilled. I am quite confident that my wife will get a lot of use out of this skirt.It also looks great. Even ignorin g the fact that it is the Black Watch tartan, it's a great looking plaid skirt. It could easily be used in any number of situations when you would want a wool skirt. My wife has had the skirt for a week, and has already worn it just out and around with a white blouse. I'm looking forward to wearing my Black Watch kilt alongside her at the next Faire we are able to attend.So, if you are a woman, looking to celebrate your Scottish heritage, or a gentleman who wants to have his wife join him in the same, this skirt is a great purchase.

I wore my new Tartanista Irish Plaid kilt to work (and afterward) for St. Patrick's Day; what a popular tartan it was. This is my second Tartanista kilt; this tartan is a vibrant color, especially when you're wearing it outside. I had a number of compliments, and had lively conversations with the opportunity to say where I got my new kilt. The length is perfect.Tartanista kilts are comfortable; they're very well made, light weight and easy fitting: the combination of Velcro and the belt-hooks allows for a wide range of fits. The belts aren't just there for decoration. For those of you new to kilts, you might be worried about gusts; this kilt comes with a pin for weighing down the front panel; I ran into a few strong breezes, and only had to hold my kilt a couple of times. This kilt looks and feels great - I highly recommend it. Oh- did I mention this one says it's for women? For the guys reading this, a kilt's a kilt: this one is 20 inches long, it's not a mini-kilt, so don't be shy.

This is an absolutely beautiful, well-made kilt. However, it runs QUITE LARGE. This will be a problem if you have to return it as it is shipped from England, and will cost more than the skirt itself in return shipping. I would suggest (again, this is only MY experience) that you order at least a full size or two smaller than what you typically wear. They use European sizing and there is quite a difference. Really a shame as this is a fabulous skirt, with leather-ish buckles and a kilt pin. Very well made and beautifully detailed. But I have found the sizing to be WAY off, and that is the reason I'm not giving it five stars.

Because there have been some concerns regarding how to pick the correct size, I wanted to leave this information right away. I am 5'2" and normally weigh 122. Right now I am 128 because I kinda chubbed out during the holidays. But my normal size is a 6. I am thick waisted, like 30" or 31". My hips are in the 36" range. I bought a size up (8) based on prior reviews. The skirt is adorable and fits perfectly! Even if I get back down to my 122 weight, it will still be fine. Better a tiny bit droopy than cutting off your circulation and digestion. I hope this helps you pick your size. It is a well made item, the colors are gorgeous, I love the buckle detail and I assume the pin is to keep keep it closed at the bottom.

Don't use the size chart link in the description. Size 10 says 30 inch waist. Item was a 32 inch waist (label inside said 32). It was WAY too big for me. Material was soft and seemed decent quality. As others have said though, the straps felt really cheap and I imagine the straps and buckles would not hold up well.

Some reviews stated to order a size up. I dont think thats necessary if I would have went with my normal size it would have fit perfectly. The size I ordered fit a bit loose but i can make it work by wearing it on my hips instead of my natural waist line, so I wont be returning it. I would say the color is a bit darker than pictured. The buckles are also very cheap feeling and dont seem like they will hold up over time and might have to replaced if worn often. I am 4'11" and this skirt comes to my knees when worn at the hips and just above the knees when worn at the natural waist line. The fabric is nice a little rough feeling and its a thicker material than I expected. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for an affordable plaid kilt/skirt.

J'ai acheté cette jupe pour la fête de la St Patrick. Commandée un lundi, elle m'a été livrée le vendredi, soit 5 jours après...service express!!!! La qualité de cette jupe est très belle et taillée impeccable! Elle a fait un super effet lors de cette soirée. Je l'adore!
