The Kindest Red: A Story of Hijab and Friendship (The Proudest Blue, 2)

I got this book because my 4 year old daughter immediately loved The Proudest Blue (I loved it too!) & I was so excited to see another book by this author. This story follows the same sisters/family and is a real joy to read. The pictures are lovely & the message of caring for your friends & the gift of community building is woven in a unique & touching way. We read this one several times a week & I always look forward to it. A great book!!!!

Fun story

Loved it! Just finish reading it for the 5th time in one day lol! This book is very powerful it gives a glimpse of hijab and friendship. Truly kids being kids helping each other, sharing with each other, playing with each other without any judgment. Definitely one of my favorite books to read!

Inspiring book..

Love this series! My students love the colorful illustrations. The characters are so cute. Great addition to our multicultural library. Great exposure and understanding for elementary age students.

I read The Proudest Blue to my fifth graders at the beginning of the year and was excited to see The Kindest Red pop up in my Amazon feed. I read it to my class the day after it came while we were discussing theme and evidence. It sparked a pretty deep (for 10 & 11 year olds) discussion about dreams, kindness, and creating the kind of world we want to be a part of.

Well written. A wonderful story with beautiful illustrations. Our 4 year old loved it!

The story of the book, like that of the first "The Proudest Blue", is very beautiful as are the illustrations. In contrast to the first book, however, the processing is really bad, especially for such a price. Yes, it's hardcover and thus the cover itself is much more stable, but the pages themselves aren't anywhere near as high quality as the first book, you have to be really careful not to tear anything when you turn the page, so I'm deducting two points. I'm always willing to spend money on books, but for just under 20 euros I've adjusted to the quality I'm used to. Too bad.

Amazing story and the kids really loved it.
