They work in the pacific northwest!
I was going to leave a 1-star review. They weren't coming on at all. But then I realized there was an On button. :) The buttons are flush with the solar unit, so I thought they were screw covers, even moreso when I pressed them and nothing happened. You really have to dig your finger in to make them come on.So yeah, before you put them outside, charge up the solar pack under a light, turn them on, and then make your selection of which setting you want. THEN put them outside. :)They were a bit of a pain to assemble. I don't know if I did the right thing, but I unwound all the wires by standing at the top of the stairs to let the solar unit hang and spin, in order to un-twist the wires and create more distance between the mushrooms. Anyway, now that they're turned on... I LOVE them!I have a retaining wall made of stacked wood stumps, so I used a drill to make holes for the spikes. They look awesome, and even though the sun set at 5pm, they're still lit now (5 hours later).

Adorable, easy setup
I love these! I like that it's solar so I don't have to change batteries. Set up was easy. The cords are twisted but no more than your xmas lights. I bought a second set for my other garden. I'll probably get more.

Cute and whimsical
These are super cute, slightly smaller than I expected, but there are twelve of them, perfect for one flowerbed. The assembly is easy, the sticks are very thin and a bit flimsy, so make sure the soil you stick them in is soft. I like that they are dark green, not black (solar panel is all black). The wire (black) does tangle a lot, which is to be expected, kind of like what happens with string lights.I love that they are waterproof since I water the plants every day, we’ll see how long the lights hold up, hoping for at least one season. The only thing I’m not the biggest fan of is that the solar panel also contains batteries (supposedly rechargeable, according to the manual, although this does not come with the charger). I had no idea it included batteries, probably my bad, should have read the description. Manual says they are there for best performance and need to be recharged regularly. It also says the solar panel should be in the sun for at least five hours a day, not sure how batteries do in direct sunlight and exposed to elements, we’ll see, hopefully they are well protected. The timer is set for 6 hours from the time you flip the switch (on/off in the back of the solar panel). Overall nice for the price.

Adorable!! So worth it
These are PRECIOUS. I put them in my flower beds along the front of my house, and they’re absolutely adorable. Not a ton of light given off, but that’s not really the point of them. Bright enough to be seen from the street - you can’t really tell that they’re mushrooms from far away in the dark, but they’re cute just as nondescript lights anyway. I think the size is perfect, and the solar panels charge enough for at least a few hours of power. A little tedious to put together, but once it’s done it’s done and I haven’t had to fix any of them since putting them up a few weeks ago. Would absolutely buy again
