How do I make sure I get a green one?

What are the measurements of the opening in the center where they would sit? (End to end with ruler.)

It measures a little under 6 inches.

Will this miniature boat float in a lake?

Yes, it will float. However, I caution you that it is only 7" x 1.5". Not sure how calm the lake is (natural weather conditions, motorboats, etc.) but waves could easily overcome it. Also, the orders are not attached but freestanding. We hope this helps you in your decision-making!
