Works for Panasonic camcorder ( pv-gs29)
I was able to transfer my videos from my camcorder to my PC and then upload it to amazon cloud. If you have this camcorder the port on the camcorder is a 4 pin. I would check all your PCs and laptops to see if you have a IEEE 1394 / firewire 4 pin or 6 pin available.The photo attached will you help you differentiate between the 4 and 6 pin cable and ports. Those are the symbols to look for to make sure you have it pc / laptop.Transferring to PC1) I had to unplug and re-plug the firewire to get it to load automatically, I wasn't sure how to load the camera interface any other way.2) You can choose to import full video or choose which parts with camera software that automatically loads.3) When imported it was a WLMP file and i just used Windows Maker (free) to convert to mp4. ( top left blue arrow, save movie, for high definition display)4) uploaded to amazon cloud using amazon desktop app.Note: Windows maker is free and should be on pc but you can easily down load it for free on the Microsoft website.

Good replacement for the the old fire wire transfer days
Works great, pins and connection fit snug. Good replacement for the the old fire wire transfer days.

It works but a very tight fit.
It did the job on a Sony DCR-TRV camcorder to PC. Only drawback is it's a very very snug fit on the camcorder. Almost gave up thinking I would break the camcorder.

Cable loose - not compliant for Canon XHA1s on Linux. Another cable (different seller) did.
Cable fit loosely and the device was not recognized by my IEEE 1394 Firewire Card. The cable that I received with the "QNINE PCIe 3 Ports 1394A Firewire Expansion Card, PCI Express (1X) to External IEEE 1394 Adapter Controller (2 x 6 Pin + 1 x 4 Pin) for Desktop PC and DV Connection" worked correctly. I was attempting to connect to a Canon XHA1s DV Camera using Debian Linux.
