Elk hunter's ideal story book
Great short stories told of great people having great moments in beautiful country. I enjoyed reading a story a night just before I fell asleep in the hopes that my dreams would start where Howard left off. I've passed my copy off to my elk hunting group.

A good read for evenings when you feel like reading a chapter or two. Even more interesting if you have been in the Bob Marshall in some of the areas talked about in the book.

Very enjoyable stories. A great chapter on a Airedale Terrier named Cheese. What a great tribute.

Good Stories
I enjoy all of his books.. What a life he had in the beautiful Bob Marshall. I rode there myself but it was a lot less populated with outfitters during his time..

Relaxing,informative,amusing short stories
A collection of short stories by a legendary Montana outfitter who in life was an excellent raconteur. The location is SW Montana and predominantly the Bob Marshall Wilderness area where Howard Copenhaver was an outfitter in the last half of the 20th century. The stories are amusing, informative, at times funny and with some names changed true. Light reading by the fireside or at bed time. Knowing the area or more having known Howard makes the stories sound as if they are spoken right from his mouth. A good light read.

Good Stories from a Good Man
As the back of the book says, Howard shares just a few of the experiences he had during his many years of outfitting. Those who know the business will laugh along with him. Those who don't will gain a down to earth look at just a few of the aspects, and probably laugh too.
