Evans makes a good product. Fits the TAMA set well. Bought some gels as well, but these are doing the job on their own for my daughter as she learns to play.

I bought this set for use on snare (dampened toms just too 70’s for me) and it delivers the goods. Besides the 12/13/14 on their respective snares the 16 can be cut in half all around to make a thinner 14. This will only mute the high ringing and leave more of the low overtones (which is often bad, but maybe not). The 12” or 13” can similarly be held in place on a 14” with tape or moongel to dampen a different set of harmonics.You can always cut rings out of old heads but these are cheap enough and nicely done. To get a super fat 70’s sound cut an old head out of its hoop and lay that above these. Whether you like these or the more flexible moongels or a leather wallet or heaven forbid duct tape is up to you; I suggest having everything at the ready.

The Evans E-Rings are fantastic. I use them on my toms for my groups ‘living room jams’, where I need a little control over the overtones and resonance. They’re perfect. And they don’t kill the tonality of my toms. Highly recommended.Word of advice: I took them with me to another house for a group practice, and just threw them into the gig bag for my bass drum, flat against the bass drum head. Not a good idea; they are thin, and in transit a couple of them got some small creases where they kind of folded over on one another. Not huge creases, mind you, just a cosmetic thing - the functionality wasn’t affected at all. Suggest you keep the packaging and cardboard liner for carrying these around.

These rings are amazing. They work exactly as advertised. They look good on the kit and they sound great. These packs are very easy to use and offer tremendous value.
