Wasting Away - Zombies sind auch nur Menschen

I have seen this movie over 30 times now in my life and I am in my 30's. This movie NEVER gets old! Story is unique and a total origional!

It's rare that a zombie movie is clever. But this one somehow is. The main characters are basically dudebro morons, but you come to actually root for the idiots by the end. Each character is actually fairly well developed given the limitations of the genre. I also don't think I've ever seen a movie from the perspective of the zombies before. It does a great job of separating out their perspective from everyone else's perspective as humans by the simple expedient of showing their POV in color, and human POV in black-and-white. They look different to humans than they do to one another. They sound different. To them, humans move extremely quickly, so they think that humans are infected with something. They don't even notice their changes in behavior as anything other than totally normal. Overall this is a cute movie for a random evening. It's not high art, but it's fun, and that's what counts.

At first it looks like a cheesy remake of a '50's movie. Give it a few minutes to get to the real stuff. Just after the green bit. The characters are decently developed and the overall story is your basic beginning of zombie apocalypse movie but shot half from the zombies point of view. Ever wondered what the world looked like through the eyes of the zombie? Well here's one idea. It was good overall. Yes, there is a lot that could have been touched up a bit like the makeup and appearance of the zombies, but you don't need flashy CGI and makeup to get the general story across. Tell a good story and the rest will fill in. Wish there were more like these.

This is a gem to me. Unfortunate that there are no bonus features since this is one movie that could have had a fun commentary at least. There is no nudity and little gore, but what it does have are some really fun characters and good writing. This film makes the zombies the heroes which i love most about it. So don't hope to see Walking Dead or something - the military and others are the bad guys here. It's all about 4 friends and a soldier who happen to end up becoming zombies, but they don't know it. That is where the comedy is, to each other they seem normal - other than some superhuman abilities. They think they have become super soldiers and that others around them are infected with some hyper rage. The movie splits between the friends interacting in color and goes black and white Night of the Living Dead style when they are viewed by others around them. It is a very funny Zomedy or Zom Com and you really get to care for the zombies thanks to some good acting and writing.

I chose this movie because I'm a huge fan of zombie films, and an even huger fan of "spoof" films of the genre. I didn't know what to expect, but the price was right. Even if I decided it sucked, no big deal; just 2 bucks down the drain.As it happens, this movie is highly entertaining, cleverly produced, and funny as hell.For viewers who are NOT fans of zombie films, but are fans of comedies, I would heartily recommend this movie. With one caveat: there is a good deal of gore/blood and violence (it's a zombie movie, after all), all of which is fairly integral to the plot. Nothing gratuitous, included merely for "shock value".Also, I wouldn't suggest letting your 8-year-old watch it, because the makeup and visual effects---all of which are expertly done---are realistic enough to trigger a nightmare or two.If you're looking for a clever, fun way to kill (pardon the pun) 90 minutes, this movie will certainly fill the bill.

I like the original title better: Wasting Away. The premise is unusual, seen from the zombies point of view, in living color, while reality is shot in black & white. The four zombie friends think they’re perfectly normal, it’s everyone else that’s infected. It’s not unlike being at a party and most everyone is drunk and on the same wavelength while the sober people look on, not getting it, because they see what’s really happening. This is that, with humor. The four friends eat tainted ice cream and get the worse case of brain freeze…ever. And then they have to deal with the military trying to cover up their mess.Clever by half, finally, another way to view zombies.

Might be the best comedy zombie flick ever made! Told from the point of view of the 4 lead characters......they all become zombies and don't know it. Clever filming alternates from how they see the world and how everyone else sees the world. They move slow, so they perceive everyone else as moving super fast and speaking gibberish. They think everyone ELSE is infected with something. This movie could have been terrible, but they pulled it off so well, mainly by focussing on the comedy. There isn't much gore, certainly not scarey, but I laughed so much during this movie, and so has everyone I have lent it to. I'm not saying it's better than Shaun of the Dead or Zombieland....but it is funnier than those. You could argue there are better zombie movies out there than Aaah Zombies......but there isn't a funnier laugh out loud zombie movie out there than Aaah Zombies.

In this 2007 Zombie comedy [aka: aagh! Zombies!!] an experimental military test Serum contaminates some ice cream, which in turn infects four friends who pass out and reawaken as zombies, but they do not realise this and still see themselves as humans, until, that is, they meet soldier Nick and things start to go haywire as they believe the rest of the world are infected.The clever twist in this is that it’s filmed from the point of view of the zombies which gives a completely new spin to the genre. Borrowing heavily from 50’s ‘B’ Movies and comic books, this uses black and white photography to change from ‘normal’ to ‘zombie view’ which is amusing and there are plenty of gags as the logic of their conclusions is very ‘Monty Python’.The single disc is a bare bones offering play, scene selection and theatrical trailer. This is rated 15 for the typical zombie ‘violence’ and themes but has little swearing and no nudity, although there are sexual references. The humour is ever present, but despite some real laugh out moments, most is decidedly tongue in cheek and fans of ‘Shaun of the Dead’ and 'B' movies should like it.

Generell sind die Kritiken für diesen wirklich amüsanten Film leider nicht so toll - deshalb wollte ich mal 5 Sterne vergeben!!Klar - er ist etwas grottig - aber es geht ja auch um Zombies!! :)Und ich finde die Idee des Films gut umgesetzt - hatte ich bisher so nicht gesehen - aus den 2 Sichtweisen und wir haben wirklich Tränen gelacht!!Ich kann den Film nur empfehlen, wenn man mal etwas Abwechslung zu den üblichen Hollywood-Produktionen braucht und mal etwas der andren Art zum Lachen haben möchte!! - Dann seid Ihr hier richtig!Oft geht es mir so, dass ich mit dem Ende eines Films sehr unzufrieden bin, was ich hier nicht sagen kann!! Ganz im Gegenteil!! - Aber, wie es ausgeht, wird natürlich nicht verraten!! - Eine sehr nette Idee und man macht den Dvd-Player auch mit einem Lächeln aus! :)))Was mir auch sehr gefallen hat, waren die 4 Hauptcharaktere - ich hatte bisher von keinem von ihnen etwas gehört - aber finde wirklich, dass sie sehr gut spielen und auch recht ansehnlich sind!! ;o)Schade ist nur, dass keine Outtakes auf der Dvd sind!! Das wäre bestimmt auch sehr spaßig gewesen - aber sonst: eine ganz klare Kaufempfehlung!! ******[Man sollte wohl noch erwähnen, dass wir unsre Dvd's generell immer in Englisch gucken - also in der Original-Tonspur! - Und, wie man ja weiß, ist die Synchro oft sehr viel schlechter... - Ich kann hier also nicht für die Übersetzung sprechen, da ich mir die nicht angeschaut habe!! - Im Original auf jeden Fall GENIAL!! :)]

Enjoy it better than expected especially for the price and the delivery was great really quick

Der Film hat mir insoweit gut gefallen, weil die Zombiestory ein mal aus Sicht der Zombies erzählt wird und nicht immer aus der der Menschen. Der Film trieft vor schwarzem Humor- oh ja das mag ich :)Wenn man keinen Horrorfilm erwartet, über kleine Schwächen hinweg sieht und sich darauf einlässt- kann man sehr viel Spaß mit diesem Filmchen haben.Schauspieler waren mir unbekannt, spielen aber ihre Rollen recht gut und treiben den Film auf die Spitze.Von mir für dieses Filmchen der anderen Art 4 von 5 SterneTrotzdem es ein B- Movie ist, kann er punkten, auch wenn er kein Meisterwerk ist. Der Film geht andere Wege und ich finde die Idee aus Sicht der Zombies die Story zu erzählen sehr gut- diese Art der Erzählung war mir bis dato neu.
