This is my third year purchasing IV Organics plant guard. It seems expensive but it really goes a long way. We use it to paint the trunks of our fruit trees. We have a backyard orchard so nothing too large. We like to paint the trunks for the winter because where we are the weather is quite variable and we get a lot of sudden freezes followed by warming, therefore they are prone to sun scald. We noticed a lot more injury to our trees when we were not using the Plant Guard. It definitely has a smell, but it is not unpleasant, just like a bunch of herbs and cinnamon put together. It is very easy to use, just mix up and either paint on or use as spray. Anything remaining can be frozen, though we generally don’t have anything to save.

The product is good, but I would not recommend for coating plants/trees that may move in the wind. I purchased this product for 3 new 15 gallon fruit trees I planted which sway in the wind (I want some play/movement in staking of the trees while they get established so they will grow to support themselves). Once dried the product began to crack and flake off (I noticed it starting the next day). It continues to come off daily. The cost of the product, and time and energy invested in reapplying, made me want to post this review to caution others to consider the application they intend. If you are looking for organic, I would DEFINETLY use this product for spot applications to address small areas of sun exposure on established stable plants and for pruning seals. If the product was more stable with a longer self, I would use it in this way for I prefer organic options when possible. However, I won't be using it even for those applications as storing the mixed product in my refrigerator (per directions) is just not practical or desirable to me (even if it is all "natural"). If you are desperate for an organic product and can stomach the high cost and potential re-applications/potential poor adhesion then, this might be the product for you. I gave three stars because I do think it is a good product - just not as marketed in my opinion and therefore not usable in my application.

I had an ant infestation on all of my trees! This was years ago. Since using this product, the ants are gone, the trees health appears to have returned, and the ants have not been back! This is a great product!

Central Florida Citrus Trees Love It. This was a needed product. I had an issue with my bark peeling on my citrus trees and damage areas. I found the product was super simple to mix up the powder and oil in a Takeout Chinese Soup Container. I mixed the amount of water from the amount I would have added from the metal can it came in. Once I mixed the "paint" I would take a brush 🖌️ and paint the trees from the top downwards. I used it on all of the bark and trunk of the trees I have in our garden. I also used it on a Crape Myrtle wear I recently cut a branch off and on an Live Oak Tree. It dries super fast and smells amazingly good. My kids enjoyed helping me spread it on and watch me. I really liked the Brown Color to match more of a natural look instead of white or green. I had enough to color and paint 9 trees twice! I felt it is a great product and would use it again for sure. I'm hoping and praying it solves my issues with our damaged bark issues. Jeff
