I used these on my 2015 LEAF. They snapped in easily, and felt secure. They feel plenty sturdy for this application. They have a tiny hole in the top which I suppose is to vent any pressure that might otherwise pop it off. I suppose that it also allows water vapor to escape in case you install it while wet. I don't know what the two adhesive backed foam strips are for. Maybe they are used on another model car. Maybe if I knew where to install them they would be of some use. There are no directions with this product; visit YouTube for help. None of the videos I found had anything to offer as to what the foam strips are intended for, but I only checked LEAF videos.

I put these on my 2015 Nissan Leaf and now my 2020 Nissan Leaf. It takes a very firm push to get these to snap in place. The pictures are the right side. Take your time with the access cover. It comes out very easy but, it's a little tricky to line up to reinstall. Take notice how it clips in on both ends. NO tools required and only a few minutes to install.

I bought a used Leaf and soon learned of the goofy design that allows water to corrode the top of the struts. Not being one to tolerate rust, I bought these to address the issue. The caps are fine but the strips of double-stick tape didn't give me much confidence that I'd have a water-tight seal. I used some butyl rubber instead.

Fits perfect for 2017 Leaf. Nissan should have put these on at the factory because the strut is right below the wiper blade pivot point. The water drips right into the strut and will rust out if you do not use the covers.

We saw a video on YouTube about rust forming on the bolts that connect to the strut underneath the hood. We decided to try these protective caps. After cleaning any dirt and rust from the bolts, we greased them and then popped on the cap. It snapped right on no problem. We have a 2015 Nissan Leaf.
