MITEY STUFF! Red Mite Liquid for Poultry Birds - Prevent Mites, Lice And Fleas on Chickens - Simply add to drinking water (50ml)

This is an amazing product, using it now for the past 5 months. Had a big mite infestation and gradually controlled it down to no mites at all, tried a lot of things but nothing has effective as this product. Mites don't go away from one day to the other, after a month it put the infestation down to nothing. All natural and happy hens.

I have battled with Red Mite ever since I got my first chicken. It’s an unknown pest for newbie keepers and you don’t realise how awful it is until it’s taken over your chicken hobby.I own and breed Polish chickens, anyone who doesn’t know, they are definitely a fancy fun show breed and most likely to become “household pets” along with Silkies and the fancy bantams. They have huge head crests covering their eyes making them susceptible to all kinds of ailments and parasites are on top of the list for Polish chicken killers. I’ve changed my birds housing to plastic playhouses in a bid to help to beat the swarms of mites and it has helped but mites will find a way.Last year was a ridiculously hot year and with bird flu locking all poultry down it meant mites we’re exploring from everywhere.One of my flocks refuses to sleep inside their coop because of mites, no matter how much cleaning and spraying I did. I reduced my flocks to one main pet flock after wanting a more simple chicken hobby life and give these birds some happiness. Did I mention between all the cleaning and spraying I was physically bathing my birds with Dermoline horse shampoo to help them…I’ve tried Red Stop in the water and it didn’t work in the slightest. No change, no difference. I’ve been using NatuProtect in their feed and wow this stuff really worked but at the time I had 3 flocks of 10 birds and it was insanely expensive to keep feeding. Well I thought I’ll give Aviform a try in the water… flock 1 - immediately started laying eggs (3 hens 2 cockerels) from day 2 and are laying like crazy after their 8 day treatment with the 1 day a week top up. Flock 2 - have started laying again (5 hens 1 cockerel) AND for the first time,4 days into their 8 day treatment, have decided to sleep inside their coop for about 1 year!!! I am truly amazed at this reaction and result. Birds not sleeping in their coop is a massive sign of mite issues so I knew there was problems and cleaned and cleaned 4 weekly to try and just wasn’t getting anywhere.I think the first initial treatment is expensive but then the ongoing 1 day a week is more sustainable. My photo shows a 1.5 litre drinker which is what I’ve been giving them everyday (small flock). Highly recommend in conjunction with your usual poultry husbandry

If I could give zero stars I would do Please avoid this product it cost me £65 I had redmite in the shed and was using red stop which was proving quite effective . This was slightly cheaper so I unfortunately bought it ….. shocking since I’ve been using it the red mite infestation is the worst I’ve ever had in twelve years . It’s supposed to kill mites when they feed on the hens ….. it doesn’t there were hundreds of red mites after feeding (red mites n colour so they should have been dead ) after using this product for. A few weeks please don’t waste your money as I did

Seems to have done the job. I drop a little in the chicken water every time as we had a bad infestation this year.

I'd great hopes for this product owing to the over-the-top amazing reviews of some users. But (as an experienced poultry keeper), when I used this product EXACTLY as described not only did the red mites increase hugely they were also feeding (i.e. their colour was red, not grey like when they have not had a feed). I tried the product out for nearly four weeks. I only had a tiny infestation, but this grew massively whilst using this product. The product is supposed to work by making the chickens blood unpalatable. Clearly this did not work as the new colonies of red mite were red and so were feeding the chicken's blood. Sigh, yet another useless product in our fight against red mite.
