I thought it would be more like a window unit "white noise" but it's not
This unit is very loud! I thought it would be more like a window unit "white noise" but it's not. It's loud and clunky and when it changes from fan to cool automatically throughout the night it makes a terrible racket. It also doesn't really cool the room as much as I wanted. It makes sleep tolerable on hot nights but it's not like when you are in a really great hotel room. Very disappointed🙁

Cools hot room very well
5 stars for the AC unit. Works great in a very sunny, 220 sq ft, non-insulated room (converted garage now part of house). There are many windows including a sliding glass door and a full-size freezer which puts off a lot of heat. Unit was relatively easy to install, although we had to go to the hardware store to get the window slider/exhaust to work with our sliding glass door (the slider that came with the unit was for a smaller window).4 stars for customer service. First I asked a question on this page about getting the extension for the window slider and was told by the seller/CCH that I could purchase additional parts, without any instructions on how to make an order, which was very frustrating. We decided we were going to need a 2nd window slider to use the unit in a 2nd room, so I called the company to make the order (number was in the instruction book that came with the unit). There was a lot of back and forth, many phone calls and emails, but eventually they sent out an additional window slider at no charge, not even shipping! I am very happy with my purchase and would buy this brand again if I had a need for another AC unit. Strongly recommend CCH.

It's noisy.
This works very well at cooling our RV. We live in Central Texas and our roof top unit was working too hard to stay at 80 degrees. The addition of this unit has helped considerably. With that being said, it is very loud when the compressor is running. I work from home and am considering buying ear plugs or noise cancelling headphones. It's too much of a hassle for us to return this unit.

Error code "E4", too bad
Not working very well for me. When the compressor is actually on it does a decent job of cooling, but it constantly goes into fan mode due to an error code. The code is "E4", which is supposed to mean the coil temperature is too low. I've never had this happen with other brands, so maybe I just got a lemon. The cooling does resume automatically a few minutes later, but the cooling function is off 25% or more of the time the unit is running. I tried different fan speeds, it's definitely worst on "low". My exhaust hose is only stretch to 3 feet, and is fairly straight, so that shouldn't be an issue. Unfortunately, I'll be returning since I need the ability to run an AC for hours on end. And yes, it's quite noisy, but most portable ACs are.

Cools the room down pretty fast
I have a big master suite... a 10x12 walk-in closet (don't hate me, I didn't set it up this way!), a 10 x 20 master, and a 6 x 10 bath.. and with no doors between any of these spaces, I knew cooling it would be a challenge. It doesn't help that the room has three sliding glass doors, a big skylight, and a glass-block window in the shower that faces west. This unit has let me sleep on hot nights for the past two summers. It cools the whole space, and if I leave the bedroom door open, it will actually cool the adjoining hallway and the living room as well, especially if I set it at 70 and leave it on even during the relatively-cool morning hours so that the space is 70 before the sun really warms things up outside.Pros: Pretty easy to set up, remote is great in a bedroom so you don't have to get up to change a settingCons: A little tricky to set up with a sliding-glass door; I used the provided window-gap filler and some triple-thick cardboard, cut to size and the whole operation is duct-taped to the slider and the slider frame. I have a thick dowel bracing the door so someone can't break in through that door without a reasonable amount of trouble (breaking the glass). I'm sure this unit would be even simpler to set up if you had a smaller window gap to address. The fan is a little loud even on the lowest setting, but this comes with the territory. It moves a lot of air. I like sleeping with a fan on and consider it a reasonable "price" to pay for cool, cool comfort. The remote recently failed... new batteries don't fix it. It seems the vendor might well replace it; I've emailed them and hope I can get a new one.
