Great for rock concerts
I bought these to use for rock concerts. I have a midrange hearing loss from playing in bands during my misspent youth and I don't want to lose any more. These earplugs do a great job of reducing volume without losing detail. The sound isn't 100% flat but it beats foam, cotton, or wadded up napkins by a mile.I spent the extra money for the universal fit version and am glad I did. The foam eartips are best for me. To seal my ear canal, the regular flanged eartips had to be inserted so far that I could taste them (no exaggeration) which was weirdly unpleasant. The large flanged eartips didn't work either.Everyone's body is different so YMMV.

Great product
Makes loud sounds quieter without changing the timbre very much if at all. Easy to insert and remove, comfortable to wear. The extra earpieces and storage box are a handy bonus.

Different from the earplugs I've had before. Definitely not for everyone. Recommended
If you're looking for earplugs that have the maximum ability to suppress sound, these are not what you're looking for.Generally speaking, I've consistently bought and used foam earplugs. While good for muffling all sound, foam isn't good if you still want to be able to hear at a lower volume. At a club, for example, I may not care at all to hear what's going on, but I WOULD want to hear what's going on at a concert (without going deaf). I decided it was time to look into flanged earplugs, but wasn't sure what to get.Not knowing anything, I first started looking into Eargasm earplugs. Since this was meant to be an experiment, I wasn't quite ready to spend that much. With a little more effort I found this product. I didn't know what size I was, so I got the universal fit. Subsequent purchases can be for just the correct size. The item is pretty comfortable to wear, as the silicone is soft enough, and the curvature of the flanges rolls inward just so. Sound is still clear, but just not as loud. It's actually quite surprising. The volume attenuation reduces the perceived volume by around 50%. That's not as much as you might think. At a really loud venue these may not be enough, but they've worked well for me.Based on my experience, I think these are well worth buying. I would say that if you don't know how high the SPL will get, make sure you bring a backup set of foam plugs (just in case). Highly recommended

The Only Filtered Earplugs Worth Buying
I want to clarify since I'm going to give these a really good review that I wasn't paid or sponsored in any way. I have bought 3 of these with my own money and I love them dearly. These are the ones to buy!First, they're one of the few that come with replaceable tips instead of a one-size-fits-all. Makes a big difference as I had to change mine to get it to fit. The silicone works fine, but the foam tips seem like they can fit any ear shap if that's a problem.Second, they cancel out noise extremely well. I can hold full conversations with people, but the volume is cut in half (which makes sense, they're a 13dB drop). They're also the only ones that are confident enough to put a frequency graph showing even it's imperfections. Excellent for musicians, I'm a snobby audiophile and I'm impressed.Third, I can even drive with these while being completely safe. My car makes lots (and I mean lots) of road noise and I have to turn my speakers up in order to hear anything. I do hour long commutes all the time and it gets fatiguing. As an extremely elitist audiophile, protecting my hearing is extremely important and the long drives were making me anxious for my hearing. But no more. I can even listen to music with these and still hear all the detail in my speakers (or at least my brain feels it's a good trade-off, so it doesn't bother me).Absolutely get these, they're very well priced and have helped me lots.

Save $$ you would have spent on an exhaust, get these earplugs!
These make you're bike sound so good when your riding! Below 60 you just get un-interrupted intake noise. For this alone, I think they are worth using. They allow in music from a sound system really well also. The comfort isn't as great as the all silicone pinlock earplugs, since these do have a hard plastic piece. Especially when taking on and off the helmet, it's a bit painful. Seal is easy and good with the standard ear tips. For highway speeds, these were a tiny bit louder than I'd like. I think no filtered earplug will perform as well as foamies on the highway.Another highlight is the carrying case. It's great because its small and goes on your keys. Seems durable and protective enough. Hopefully this goes towards not loosing my earplugs again!

They work, but too well for playing in a band (for me)
I bought these for when my band rehearses. It can get loud in the rehearsal studio. These do cut down on the sound rather well, but too well for my liking. I had trouble hearing the guitars and vocals and ended up taking them out. For me, they didn't work but for you they might. They are fairly comfortable, but you need to cram them good in your ear. The different attachments are helpful. YMMV
