Does the kettle lift off the base for serving?

Hi Judy Yes it does lift off the base. It is very light and it heats the water in under 2 min. I cannot imagine my life now without it. You will love it.

i bought this kellte 3 months ago, i do not use it any more because when i boil the water it smells of plastic . what shall i do?

I’ve had mine for 4 years and never had a problem. I clean it with white vinegar and water 50/50. Boil the mix and discard. The best kettle there is.

What material is the ovente green kettle made of? Some sites say glass, some say plastic and some say stainless steel?

Ovente green kettle is made of plastic.

how do you charge it?

It's electric. There's no charging involved. It sits on a base that you plug into an outlet to heat the water. It then shuts off automatically.
