You have to double-dip, first with Rit regular, and then with Rit Dyemore. The tricky part is getting color consistency, because there are far fewer shades available in Dyemore. The Rit website has recipes for hundreds of shades, but it's possible that you'll need to buy a few bottles and mix them to get what you want. And test, test, test!

Q: Does this work on 95% rayon and 5% spandex?

Yes, but the colors are unpredictable and unless you have a small piece and a huge pot to boil on the stove, it comes out blotchy.

Q: How many pounds of 100 % polyester will one 7 ounce bottle dye?

4 ounces of dye will cover 1lb of dry fabric. But keep in mind what color you are going from, and what color you are trying to achieve. For me, it took 4 bottles, and 4 rounds of dye to dye a white 100% polyester dress that weighed 2lbs to a true bright red. It wasn't until the 3rd and 4th dry that it turned actually red. The first 2 dyes are coral at best. Plan accordingly!
