works perfectly for as intended....
I would first like to open with this is Jennifer’s husband writing the review. We recently bought and mounted our TV on the wall. The new TV did not have a pc input but it had an open hdmi slot so I bought and am using this item. My vid card doesn’t support audio so I cannot comment about that but the image and video is as expected. For my sound I hooked the pc direct to the sound bar.I would recommend this item to anyone that is hooking there pc to a TV or a monitor with HDMI.

Clear image and modernized connectivity
This does well to turn an old monitor into an HDMI device. I often recommend it to those with HDMI video cards that have no DVI-D port. There is no sound breakaway but that doesn't bother me. It works with the AppleTV, but no sound will come from the screen. You'll need a different adapter for that.

I'm giving this 3 stars not because this product doesn't work, it works as expected, but only after I took a pair of needle-nose pliers and straightened the pins and casing to be the right shape. When I got these, it was clear they had been abused a bunch in transit (heavy items crushing them, or dropped on top?). Functionally, they all worked after I straightened them out, so I'm not mad in the end. Have those needle-nose pliers ready if you order these!

Only one of the two included adapters worked. I was able to isolate the problem as being the connector by switching cables, ports, and even screens, making it clear that the only failing part of the process was connector. However, the adapter that worked, combined with the price and quick shipping leaves me giving this 4/5.Do note, the HDMI cable will not fully slide into the slot on the adapter. This isn't a drawback, especially when these are used on the back of a graphics card or TV, but if you used this, say, on the side of a laptop, you might run into some problems with it not seating fully or being flush.

Seems to be out of spec/poorly made, and no way to return. Don't gamble on this for the sake of a couple of dollars.
Shipped for free but not as quickly as with Prime shipping. Didn't work with my DVI-only monitor to convert a HDMI output from a graphics card. I tried several laptops and a desktop as the HDMI source. The monitor was detected and a list of supported resolutions showed up in the driver control panel, but whenever I'd try to actually enable the output, the monitor always showed a black screen with a "Check signal cable" message. And yet, it did work with the 640x480 HDMI output from an action camera. Reminder: HDMI carries a DVI signal, which means that converting from HDMI to DVI should require nothing more than a relatively simple passive adapter that only connects pins on one connector to pins on the other.I gave up and purchased an AmazonBasics adapter cable, which worked perfectly on the first try with all my devices.Because an adapter cable from a reputable brand worked fine, and the adapter wasn't completely broken but worked only for a low resolution, the obvious conclusion is that this adapter is not built to spec. In other words, the conductors in the adapter are cheap and aren't up to the task of passing a high-frequency signal from point A to point B cleanly.Don't gamble on this adapter for the sake of a couple of dollars.I purchased from the seller WinHong on 10/17/2017. YMMV on the actual product received and return policy from other sellers and at different times.

HDMI cables are cheaper than DVI and DisplayPort cables. Get a video card that has HDMI outputs to save on the cables needed!
Worked Perfectly to connect my 24" Dell LED/LCD Monitor to my ASUS GeForce GTX 750Ti Video Card's HDMI Port. Three Monitor Surround-Sound Gaming For The Win!My Video Card has four monitor outputs, which are 2x DVI, 1x HDMI, and 1x VGA. I used the adapter with a HDMI cable to utilize the 3rd video card output. So with the 2x DVI and 1x HDMI outputted to the three identical Dell LCD Screens at 1920x1080 (5760x1080 if spanning all three monitors) allows for "Surround-Sound" Gaming. The 4th VGA output is driving an older 24" Samsung LCD (the top middle monitor in the picture), which is NON-3D.I built this setup so I can play any 3D Game across the bottom three monitors for more immersion. The 4th Monitor in the top middle is used for other background programs like Voice Communications (Teamspeak), Playing Music (Winamp), and a Browser Window. Basically it's an extra 'utility monitor' to view other stuff without having to Alt-Tab between the programs.*Pro Tip*For anyone looking to purchase a new video card for surround sound gaming, I would suggest getting one with full sized HDMI port(s) on it so you can use a standard HDMI cable to connect the video card to a monitor with this adapter. This will be a LOT cheaper than using DVI Cables or DisplayPort Cables!

Pedicure kit
Love this pedicure kit because it has so many accessories to use especially if you have thicker nails that normal toenail clippers have difficulty cutting.

Sometimes worked, but mostly not. Upgraded graphics card instead so I stopped using these.
It works sometimes. Got it to convert motherboard integrated HDMI graphics with a 1 year old DELL monitor that has only DVI inputs. At first it didn't work but after unplugging, plugging in, and making sure it was firmly seated the monitor finally displayed the image from my computer. However, after power cycling the computer, when the computer turned back on the display stayed blank and the monitor went into power saving mode. I again unplugged, re-plugged back in, fiddle here, fiddle there, then it displayed. I did not jar loose the connection from the first time it worked to the next. This seemed to re occur each time we power cycled or put the computer to sleep and was too annoying for my wife and me. So it seems like the OS has a hard time detecting the monitor through this adapter unless you unplug and replug in the adapter. I finally bit the bullet and bought a different graphics card that has DVI output so I could plug it into the monitor without this adapter. I think I'll keep these adapters for the future for who knows what I need use because the adapters were so cheap, but based on how it went, I could not use them full time due to how unreliable it was.
