I was pretty skeptical before I bought this item due to the sketchy picture that it shows and not many reviews on it. After receiving and opening the package I was surprised that it was shipped straight from Smittybilt which gave me a piece of mind! The item fit perfectly and is superb quality! Only thing that sucks is that it didn't come with the nut and bolts to fit it in place but you get a Smittybilt sticker that makes up for it!

Nice lock beware of size…
Naturally this is built to smittybilts specs so if you’re building your own swing out tire carrier like I did you should beware… the lock fits 2x3 square tube. However it appears to have a tolerance for 18 gage wall…. Forgot to measure before it went in the mill. But I pulled about .064 off each side to fit 11 gage…Overall lock is nice… the pin lock feels flimsy for - 1 star as it seems like it’s gonna break- 1 more star for not posting specs

Direct replacement for the handle I lost.
I lost the handle on my xrc bumper.Why... Cuz I didn't locktite the bolt.I won't make that mistake again.Smittybuilt customer service gave me the part number.Feels better than the original.I love the new safety pin. Great addition. There's no way this will accidentally come open unless you don't read instructions and use LOCKTITE on the handle bolt.

DO NOT BUY
I bought this item a few months ago. Finally installed it maybe last month. IT FELL APART. WHILE HOLDING THE TIRE. My swing gate came open and I almost hit another car with it. TERRIBLE quality.

Solid but read this if you’re using this for a custom tire carrier build
Bought this for a custom tire carrier build for my jeep JK. Very solid piece but doesn’t fit into 2 x 3 steel tubing! The short side is about 1/8+ too big, so I had to very carefully use a file and grinder to take about 1/16” off each short side so it would slide in. And like a previous reviewer said, it does not come with the stop plate, you’ll have to fabricate something for that.
