Bright and shiny describes this FCOB LED strip fairly accurately. I soldered wiring onto the strip using standard ingredients, implements and wizard spells and it sticks very well! This type of strip doesn't heat up nearly as much as the older 300 LEDs/m 5050/5630/2385 LED strip does. To test that, I ran three 18" lengths of strip wired in parallel at full brightness for an hour on a 12.5vdc power supply. The strips were barely more than warm, even the one that was fully 3M foam taped to the underside of a garage shelf. Would reccommend, would buy again, but with addressable RGB LEDs next time. ;)

Beautiful lighting...! BUT... the adhesive backing is barely acceptable. I'm using the LED strip around a kitchen pantry door frame, i.e. stuck to typical kitchen gloss wall paint. The adhesive goes on good at first, but then it lets go buy the next day. I've ordered some 3M VHB tape to resolve the problem. Real 3M VHB double-sided tape is the only way to go for projects like this. It's too bad some LED strip suppliers don't just do it right the first time, or at least offer pre-installed VHB as an option. It would likely prevent future customer product quality complaints like this. The light output is beautifully uniform and bright.

You'll need to order a 12v supply separately and may need to solder depending upon your application, but these are great if you know what you're getting into, and are priced accordingly. I used this for under-cabinet lighting, and already had 2 conductor wiring stubbed out under each cabinet. I cut this to length, and soldered directly to the LED strip. I am very happy with how well this provides diffuse light, which is a big improvement over similar strip with exposed individual LEDs. I prepped the surface with rubbing alcohol, and had no issues with the adhesive, just make sure that you anchor the wire so that it doesn't pull the end down, or use the included fasteners on the end.

I put these LED strips on my outside stairs and they are really bright, probably too bright. I'll probably replace them with the less bright version. Also, after a few days the ends of the strips are coming off and the tape isn't sticky anymore, so I'm going to have to glue them or something.

Using it for a 6 months, still works as new, great quality and very bright
