Zymox combines 3 potent enzymes derived naturally from milk products. Each enzyme is unique and in combination provides a powerful anti-microbial defense system. The otic solution is highly effective Review: Must have for dog owners - Like many posters here my dog (Boston Terrier) has had severe chronic ear problems for many years. And, like others, the vet wouldn't prescribe anything over the phone, or even prophylactic antibiotic or antifungal medication to help them stay clear. Daisy was always scratching, to the point where the back of her ears were bald. Trips to the vet were financially draining. It got so expensive that I had no choice but to faithfully clean her ears every other day at home and rub antibiotic ointment or hydrocortisone ointment on the outside of her ears to cut down on the scratching. That helped but she still shook her head all the time and scratched, scratched, scratched. Recently, after searching the web again in desperation, I came across this product. The real reason I decided to try this was because of the numerous positive reviews from people who had previously purchased it. The product was delivered promptly and I used it for the first time that evening. I swear, I noticed a difference in my dog within hours. She slept so peacefully that first night... no head shaking or scratching. The next day I used it again and cleaned her ears a couple of hours later. I was easily able to remove a lot more debris out of her ears than I normally would, a great deal of which was dead skin and scabs. After two days the difference in the appearance of her ears was unbelievable. After daily use for 10 days her ears were gorgeous... soft, supple, no thickened skin, no dry and flaky skin, no redness, zero odor. The difference in Daisy's behavior has been even better. The scratching has stopped, so has the head shaking. The hair behind her ears has even grown back. After 10 days I cut back to using the product every 3rd day or so. Her ears haven't gotten worse with less use. The improvement has maintained. It's been several weeks since I first used it and she's like a new dog. This product is clear but oily and I think the consistency of the product really helps. It oozes all over the inside of her ears and that's probably why I was able to remove so much more debris than I was able to with regular ear cleaners - the oily properties softened the gunk in her ears and loosened it. Most ear cleaners for dogs is alcohol-based, more watery than oily, and evaporate quickly. The alcohol probably has more of a drying effect than anything. I have to add that really good and regular cleaning along with using this product was, I have to believe, a very important part of the process. Cleaning her ears removed a lot (a LOT) of debris that I just wasn't able to get out with any other cleaner I tried. I can't help but think the dead skin and gunk I couldn't get out previously played a large part in what was itching/irritating her before. Anyway, in less than a week when I cleaned her ears I began getting less and less gunk on each cleaning. Before I started using the product her ears felt rough, thickened, and hard (almost calloused) in spots. Today, about three weeks after beginning use, her ears are beautifully soft and supple. I honestly didn't believe this product would work so well - I hoped that it would help - give her some relief and cut down on vet visits. The results have been absolutely amazing. I don't know why this product isn't for sale at PetSmart, Target, or Walmart - or why my vet doesn't either know about it or want to recommend it. Every dog owner should have this product. If I knew it would work so well I would have bought the 8 oz, not the 4 oz. I've already recommended this to everyone I know who owns a dog. If your dog suffers at all from ear problems PLEASE try this. Review: Reliable Ear Care That Actually Works - I’ve been using Zymox Otic Enzymatic Solution as both prevention and treatment, it has the viscosity of glycerin. For my 14 lb dog, I use 1 drop in each ear right after baths. When a yeast infection shows up, I fill the ear canal (about 1–2 drops) daily and squish it in the canal for 30 seconds to a minute—you should hear it—before letting her shake it off, for a full 7-day cycle. Her ears usually clear within 48 hours, but I always finish the full treatment. I’ve used prescription ear meds before on my other dog, and those worked—but this works just as well.

Very effective
Zymox is very effective at keeping ear irritations in check, and for overall ear cleansing.

This is the best
I live in South Africa and Namibia and all the effort and costs to get this item to me, is worth it. My dog had a very bad persistent ear infection. I had her at 4 vets and she got the best antibiotics and the best treatment - nothing helped. After about a year treating this infection, the vet said that its best to let go and have her put to sleep. The pain was so so bad, it ruined her life. She didnt want to go out of the house, not even to pee or poop. I couldnt take it no more. I scheduled an appointment with the vet for the next day - to let my poor dog go. The night before the appointment - I though of giving it one last shot and I randomly searched for a possible solution. So I came across this item. I ordered it and shipped it with DHL to my home country. I postponed the appointment with the vet. I received this item in 3 days time. And this is where my life changed, and Tasha's life changed... After 3 days of treating her, she surprised me for simply just taking almost the first pee since this infection - on her own, outside the house. And since then, she's been a different dog. I am crying while typing this review. She is now a very happy, and very healthy dog. I often thank God for a second chance with her. Its almost 2 years since I treated her with this item, the first time. Recently it looked like the infection coming back again - and I immediately ordered this item, despite the cost and excessive shipping costs to my home country. I received it 2 days ago, and the (possible) infection coming back - is history. This product is God-sent. UPDATE 10/26/2013 I ordered more of this item, and Tasha, well, didnt get the infection again. From time to time, I use very little at a time, just to clean their ears. (I now have 3 dogs). This product is fantastic and though expensive for me, well worth every penny. Just buy it, and keep it "for in case." UPDATE 10/05/2020 My dog has had a very bad ear infection for about the past 2 months. Because of the exchange rate and more than double the cost of the product to order from the USA, I could simply not afford ordering again. Fast forward 2-3 months, I've been to the vet few times, got this med and that med - no improvement. My heart broke for my little boy. I clean his ear every day, and every day it would seem raw inside and I could bearly touch it. Ir looked very bad and it is as if skin from the inside was coming off every day. Every day was a mission. Oh and not to mention - my vet bill - at the end of the day, was more than 400, no, 500 dollars. Somehow I managed to order this product again and its been 2 days - and the ear looks fine. My boy seems out of pain and he even wanted to play today. The right thing to do is to write in more detail, and to tell you more about how mind-blowing-effective Zymox is. I can not express how thankful I am that my boy feels better. The difference is light and day. I will start saving up for the next batch so that I can make sure not to be without this wonder lube for as long as I have my little boy.

Expensive but it works!
Does your dog have an ear infection, does he cry when you touch his ears too firmly, does he shake his head often? Consider this, my vet recommended it, put a squirt in and gently massage into the infected area. My dog appeared to have so much pain and discomfort before this
