IllamasquaSheer Veil Lipstick, Precious

This lipstick is perfect in every way! It wears like a dream (super balmy but not heavy) with great color payoff. I rolled the dice with this shade as I’ve never tried it or Illamasqua before but I’m in love! Will definitely be buying more.

This artfully slanted Illamasqua Sheer Veil Lipstick in Pose, comes in a very chic black case that is contoured and stylishly beveled at each corner…it’s all about the details. Who knew that a lipstick and case could be a work of art! (To me, this is!)1. I found this case much easier to open and hold than your typical round case, and the lid securely snaps together nicely with a nice click and stays safely closed in your purse or special occasion bag.2. The uniquely slanted lipstick design is an art form unto itself and helps you outline and fill your lips in like a professional makeup artist. (Goodbye lipliner!)3. The shade I tried was Pose in Sheer Veil and I would definitely reorder it again. It is a nice neutral with my light ivory/fair coloring with pink undertones. (I usually do well with pink hues that have a touch of brown in them, and this was a great match for me!) The color was actually a perfect match to the pictures I saw online and was as I expected as far as color, coverage, and feel of the lipstick based on the description in the listing.4. The lipstick did not seem to have any scents that were perfumey or overpowering which is good news for those that are scent-sensitive!5. The lipstick glides on nicely, feels extremely moisturizing and is almost weightless offering very sheer coverage that is perfect for any polished daytime look. The packaging states that it is a “sheer high-shine” look. For me this was just the right amount of shine for daytime use as you can see in my photos. (I am showing pictures of the color as applied so you can see the shine and how it looked, and what it looked like after several hours of wear and eating and drinking. I am very pleased with the results!)6. Best of all, the brand is a vegan brand, are 100% cruelty-free, and has the “Cruelty-Free” bunny seal on the product packaging (box) and are also certified by PETA. I am always willing to pay more for a product that delivers what it claims, and Illmasqua definitely does with this product!Honestly, I had never heard of this made in Italy brand before and was so impressed with this lipstick, that I will be trying more from this brand in the future. Between the perfect color match to what I saw online, to all the little artistic details in the lipstick and case, I feel that this is a great product, offers phenomenal value for the experience, is a very high quality lipstick that lasts for typical day to day situations (eating, talking, drinking) in excellent shade choices and think you will too! I use this product mostly like a tinted lip balm, because it is very sheer and does not have the best lasting power. I think it is great for adding a little color and moisture to my lips; it is very moisturizing! If I want full on color and staying power, I reach for something else.Overall, this is a good alternative to have in my collection for days that I don’t want a bright lip but I need a little something. The color is beautiful and is essentially my lips but better.

You get about an inch of lipstick. The curved tip helps to line lips before filling in. It doesn’t have a scent to it that i can smell. I love the moisturizing aspect, and it does moisture my lips well. It did leave stains when drinking from my bottle of water and eating, there’s still some tint left of my lips, but most came off.In the picture, the lighter swatch is just one swipe, and 3 swipes for the darker swatch.This lipstick also has fine gold glitter in it, i didn’t know until my lipstick started coming off and the glitter was left on my lips, i really like the fine glitter, it’s very pretty, but just wanted to point that out in case someone doesn’t like anything with glitter on their face.I love that it’s vegan and cruelty free. It’s good for 24 months after opening, and all in all, i would still recommend.

So I am a pale freckle faced ginger and I have a hard time finding a good everyday, casual lipstick that is flattering. I am so happy with this one. I got the color “pose”. The lipstick itself is very moisturizing and fairly sheer. It adds just the right amount of color for me. It is casual enough to go with any outfit or can be dressed up. It is a bit more than I would usually spend on lipstick, but it’s also the best looking shade I have seen for my skin and hair. I am also happy with how long the color lasts. I would absolutely recommend this.
