Scotts Wizz Spreader & Summerguard Lawn Food Bundle

These fertilizers are awesome transformed my yard from weed to a nice lush green grass. Have my neighbors jealous of my yard. Many thanks to Scott’s. Just follow instructions and don’t over do it with these fertilizers otherwise it can kill the grass. Very good quality A++

Have been using Scotts for many years. I applied this as directed and there was no burn. The grass has stayed very green and insects seem to be at a minimum. Not sure if it really guards against summer heat or drought. Nothing will replace water during summer heat.

Used it for the correct season either great for me.

My grass was turning brown due to hot dry weather. I had been watering it and it was starting to return. After applying the summer guard it greened up nicely a few days later. I remembered what one reviewer said that “ less is better “ to avoid burn out. So I applied it sparingly with one coating and watered it well. It did the job greening and protecting. Scott’s products do work. I use them fall, spring and summer as per their online plan and get great results for my lawn.

Though I seem to be in the minority, I did not experience any burning with this product. I applied as instructed both with the setting on the spreader and the distance apart per application. I watered thoroughly after the fact and have continued to water as normal. About a week later, my grass is green and healthy.For reference, I water all 4 zones of my yard for an hour daily. Tall fescue. In Virginia clay with no shade in the heat of summer, watering an hour a day every day is necessary to keep my lawn green and vibrant. During the dog days of summer, mid-July through September, I water an hour in the early morning and then half an hour in the afternoon.I say that because maybe it was the extent of watering that kept my lawn from burning. Now, my lawn is the greenest its ever been in the summer. For comparison, last summer my lawn really suffered in the heat. It was thin and damaged. This year, after applying scotts products, including summer guard, my lawn remains green and grows healthily even when my neighbors lawns have stagnated in the heat.4 stars because there is much more product in the bag than 5000sqft if you apply as directed (3 3/4 on rotary spreader 5 feet apart).

I have used Scotts brand of fertilizer for many years, using the different varieties depending on the season. Here the summers are long and tend to be hot and dry as well as having a large insect population, so I use this every summer to help strengthen the grass as well as control the insects. I have never had an issue with burning the grass. If you follow the directions and use a spreader to put onto your yard, you will have no issues. Do not over sow the fertilizer or you will burn your lawn. I apply some variety of fertilizer every 3 to 4 months, with the Summerguard version in the summer. Make sure you lightly water your grass immediately before you apply the fertilizer as that helps the fertilizer control the weeds. Also water your lawn thoroughly a couple days later to help the nutrients get into your lawn. This works well at helping strengthen the lawn and to a lesser extent bug control. I also use a bug control product to supplement this throughout the year.This 15 lb. bag is a bit small and I think it is a bit pricey compared to other brands, but is comparably priced currently ($25 per 15 lb bag) to the box stores.4 stars

Works well when ya simply follow directions. Use their 4 step program and my grass is like carpet. Just have to watch out for the lil dog doo's.
