I searched high and low to find the best possible security solution for my boat. I had my boat (Yamaha 242xe) stolen last spring. The thieves cut through the Marina’s fence and gate. The went straight to my boat and cut through the cheap box store hitch pin lock I had on it in short order. The boat was gone in under 10 minutes and never recovered, even though there was security cameras point right at the hitch. When I decided to replace the boat, I wanted the highest security I could for it and came up with this product. I can’t say enough about it. Thrives will have to have a cutting torch or an angle grinder and a lot of time to get through this lock. I supplemented this with to wheel boots and a case hardened chain through the wheels and gps tracking. I believe that this lock is all that is needed but sometimes I go overkill, lol. I wouldn’t buy another boat without buying this locking device.

The product was as expected - solid and (hopefully) enough to secure my trailer and boat. What really impressed me was the personal attention from Proven Industries regarding my Amazon order. Just stop looking at other locks and get this one. I installed this on a Shoreland’r pontoon trailer with the surge brake coupler, and this lock fits like a glove! No exaggeration here...it matches the finish of the trailer and fits so snuggly you’d think it was a factory accessory. I’m very happy with this purchase. There are plenty of credible reviews online that attest to the security level this offers so I’m trusting this is going to be about as good as I’ll get my hands on.

If you have trouble finding the correct lock, they are very proactive and will help you sort it out. The unit itself is very solid and will definitely help deter anyone interested in taking your trailer.

This thing is BAD A--!! I love it!! The fit and finish is perfect, and keeps the security chains locked in and off of the ground as stated. I thought about dinging it a star for the high price, but after seeing it, touching it, using it, I'd buy another in a heartbeat. Thanks to Proven Industries for building a trailer lock that makes me feel like I can park my boat/trailer anywhere securely.
