Pricey but worth it
Its kind of like having NS10s really flat monitors in front of you except even better sounding. Crystal clear, mid forward sound signature. These do not have the "incredible bass and high end" sound signature that comes with consumer high quality headphones (Bose, Beats, etc). However, they still sound VERY good and if you mix on these and make your mix sound good, it will translate excelent to other listening devices. Buy these if you want to mix, edit, master your music or content without an acoustically treated room and studio speakers. Note: the headband is a little bit fatiguing after a few hours. Im bald though so maybe thats not an issue for everyone.

Exceptional Headphones for Sound Professionals
Stellar headphones, as expected from an audio legend like Neumann. These are designed for sound professionals in the studio, so audiophiles and music enthusiasts would be wasting their money. If you mix professionally and need to make informed decisions, this is a great tool to add to your studio. I can attest to the effectiveness of using these to improve your mix, but a far more reputable source would be Sound On Sound's article. Personally, running it through my MT48 audio interface (also Neumann) is a joy, and it makes me sad whenever I use this or my NDH 20 (the closed-back version) without a high-quality interface, though the quality is still much improved over cheaper headphones as the impedance isn't too high to be unmanageable without professional gear. They're comfortable, though your mileage may vary depending on head/ear shape. The included cable is similarly high quality. It has its own Neumann-branded TRS connector, but any screw-on connection should be fine. Unfortunately, there is no carrying case included. This feels like a letdown considering the price, but you can use other cases with perfect utility so I'm not bothered by it. I highly recommend purchasing the SUREWO DJI carrying case and taking the foam out; it fits the NDH headphones and cables perfectly. TL;DR IF you're a sound professional who wants to make more informed mix decisions, you should highly consider this. If you're not working professionally in the field, disregard this option. They're expensive and are designed as a studio tool. There are plenty of other high-quality options, including many reputable elements by Neumann's own parent-company Sennheiser, for audio enthusiasts.

Gorgeous, but ensure plug correctly inserted into earpiece
I have several good dynamic headphones (Beyerdynamic, AKG) but they shared a characteristic sweetness and slightly passive sound that I've found common to dynamics. When I got my Audeze LCD-X at the end of 2021, I found the sound of the dynamics relatively pale. But the LCD-X is weighty and bulky and although within my comfortable wearing range, I still wanted an alternate of normal dynamic scale/mass that could stand up to the planar magnetic's absolutely right-on sound. After considerable research (and based on my experience with Neumann powered speakers and MA-1 DSP alignment), I zeroed in on these Neumann NDH 30. For the first evening and morning that I had them, the sound was not satisfactory. After puzzling about it several hours, I decided to check the plug as inserted into the right earpiece. Sure enough, I hadn't fully inserted it. This is slightly tricky - the plug must be firmly inserted so that it seats in the receptacle and the plug is turned clockwise to lock it. After that fix, I then compared the NDH 30 with the LCD-X by alternate listening to the same passages and tracks. If there's a dynamic headphone that could pass for planar, the NDH 30 is one of them. I perceive the main difference is that the LCD-X seems to highlight the sound in an attractive audiophile-friendly manner, whereas the NDH 30 comes across "straight", as you'd expect from a mixing/monitoring headphone.

Expensive, but quickly looking like an industry standard
These headphones are not affordable. But I’ve heard so many good things from other audio engineers, that I had to get some for myself. They sound quite flat and lack a lot of the low wind exaggeration. That headphones usually have. They also sound clear and revealing which is good for the task of audio engineering work. The hardware seems good, however, I’m always leery of plastic components on headphones. I can’t imagine these lasting a lifetime, and I certainly hope parts are available if they were to break. I don’t think most people would pay this much for a pair of headphones, but again , if you want to standard with a relatively flat frequency response, thus not requiring software calibration or like, they seem to be the best for that.

Be aware of the cable on a right hand side
Good headphones for mixing, but giving it a four star for the weight and the weirdest thing - the cable is actually on a right hand side. As a studio guy I can’t get used to it.. all my life all headphone cables were on a left, why this had to be an exception ??? Otherwise, good cans, sound pretty objective.

Excellent
I recently purchased the Neumann NDH 30 headphones and I am extremely satisfied with this product. The sound quality is exceptional, with clear highs, detailed mids, and deep bass that provides a well-balanced listening experience. The build quality is superb, with a sturdy and comfortable design that is perfect for long listening sessions. These headphones deliver professional-grade audio performance, making them ideal for both casual listening and critical audio work. If you're looking for high-quality headphones, I highly recommend the Neumann NDH 30. You won't be disappointed.

Sounds like an AM 📻
Sounds like songs are being played back in mono. 🤷🏽♂️I heard so many good things about these headphones… what? Did I get a bad pair?

oh boy i get to give my impressions first
The bass! Definitely something i wasnt expecting with these open backs, i have tried most midrange open back headphones and these definitely have the best bass. Its tight pronounced and shakes the headphones. Im glad no eq was required to get an even bass response. These were definitely eqd for monitoring and mastering. The center and stereo image is great with depth. You can make mixing decisions with these! Soundstage feels large but not massive. Not the intimate in your head sound you get with most headphones. The mids are smooth a little pronounced in the upper mid range but still neutral overall. Highs go all the way up and have no sibilance. I took a chance with these and it payed off, they may need a hair of eq but definitely worth the asking price! Finally some headphones that feel like they tick all the boxes. PS make sure the cable is screwed in to the headphones correct or you will be hearing mono signal with some phase issues. Ask me how i know

Everything Sounds Just Right
First things first. Your right earcup is the one with the cable attached to it. Not many people know this or even bothered looking at the indicators but yeah... Just a heads up xD These things look beautiful! The silver ano is reallllly great and then that polished edge is chef's kiss. They feel incredibly well built and I haven't experienced any creaking when I swivel the cups or stretch them out when I put it on my head. Comfort is a toss up. Pads are comfy albeit I have relatively small ears and my ears don't rub against the drivers so it's got some depth to it. Downside for me is that the padding on the top is too thin for me head and I get a hotspot about 30 minutes of wear and readjust them around to relieve it. I am willing to buy something that will help add more comfort to it but I do know that some argue why spend so much on something if it's not perfect. Well nothing is ever perfect from an objective standpoint xP Sound signature based on what I hear is essentially: - Treble that doesn't bite--nearly sounding dull but still has lots of detail - Midrange that is I think is neutral and doesn't sound forward nor lacking - And a little bit of extra kick in bass Powering these with the FiiO K9 Pro ESS, at high gain at 12 o' clock with the provided cable with FLAC files. About 1 o' clock for something like Spotify or content on the web. Listening to music and consuming content with the Neumann NDH30s, it's anti-climatic but I can only summarize it as: everything sounds right to me. The soundstage isn't large but isn't in my head either like some of the Sennheiser's. The space is just enough distance and the instruments and vocals are placed juuuuust right. Everything sounds natural and not out-of-place. I would note that poorly mastered music will still sound poor. But I still have a fun time with these. Imaging is spectacular I can locate where sounds are and just how close or far it is. But yeah I do not have a single complaint for how these sound. Everything blends so well together it is pretty magical for my experience. It's a 5/5* for me since I am willing to pay for something like a ZMF Crescent Snap to help alleviate the hotspot I get all the time. But a 4/5* would be understandable from an objective view. I have multiple of flavours of headphones in my collection and yet I still pick these. It's sooooo easy for me to get lost into the music for hours and hours. They are really something special to me :D

the best money can buy, as close to perfection as possible
The best headphones on the market right now at any price point. Insane sound for only 650 ever greens. A lot of false information about these headphones. Some reviews mention that they sound thin, it's false, they sound close, thick and detailed, with insane base, insane mids and the highs are just right. Everything is detailed and well controlled. I love Neumann NDH 20 but they are uncomfortable I could not tolerate them on my head for more than 30 min, NDH 30 sound similar to NDH 20 but they are more way more comfortable and they have less emphasis on base and more emphasis on mid, overall it's NDH 20 with perfect comfort and more linear sound. Also some people spreading false information that these headphones use a driver from Sennheiser HD 560s, this is false. 560s sounds thin, distant, cold and unpleasant. NDH 30 sounds close to you just like HD600, thick, warm and very very pleasant. NDH 30 sounds simlar to HD600 but it has better details in base, mids and highs, much much better base and it sounds great overall. I owned almost everything but the only 3 headphones I can recommend are Neumann NDH 20, Neumann NDH 30 and Sennheiser HD 26. If you are an audiophile like me, do not hesitate, buy NDH 30, it has no problems, negative reviews are false.
