Carex Hot Water Bottle With Cover, Rubber - Heat Therapy and Cold Therapy - For Cramps, Pain Relief, Arthritis, Aches and Pains

I take this water bottle camping at an outdoor apprenticeship course during the chilly months - I fill it up before bed and it keeps my sleeping bag pretty toasty all night. I love the fleece cover - I had used one like this before, so I was specifically looking for that feature, but I was especially pleased with this one because the cover is removable (the one I used was actually attached to the bag). I purchased it in May and used it about 6-8 different times since then - no leaks from mine (a couple reviews described leaks). Very pleased with this purchase thus far - I'll update if I ever have an issue! UPDATE DECEMBER 2018: I still use this water bottle. Whether it's cramps (sorry if TMI, but real life chat here), a cold bed in the winter, an ear ache, etc, I have been extremely pleased with this water bottle. I use it at least once a month, more in the winter.

I have TMJ which causes pain in my face periodically. This water bottle is the perfect size to hold or lay my face on to help relieve my discomfort. It has a smooth side and a thicker side with ridges. It states to cover water bottle with bag or cloth when using, but I prefer to use it without cloth because it doesn't get hot enough to burn. I fill the bottle half full of hot tap water, screw in the plug tightly, and lay my head on the smooth side of the bag. I've actually fallen asleep a few times as it feels like a warm pillow against my aching jaw. It is the perfect size for my lower back as well. It looks and feels well made and I've not had any leakage from the plastic plug. It works perfect for me. Update July 14, 2017: I'm still very happy with this purchase. It has saved me from much discomfort over the past year and it's still holding up very well.

This is my second purchase only because I love it so much I wanted to get another just to have it. Stays hot for long time. Well made quality bag. Couldn’t ask for a better bag. I actually use slightly boil hot water mixed with little hot tap water and it takes well. However I would caution doing this it’s very hot and can burn if not used properly. Highly recommend you follow their instructions. I just love a really hot bag my tap water isn’t hot enough for me 😊.

I haven't bought a hot water bottle in over a decade. We used to boil water in a kettle and fill them. this is a different kind of material, and they only want you to use tap water, and the material is very still. The first night I used it, I woke up with a big bruise on my arm from the edge. however, it does have a nice little fleece cover, and I warm it up first, pour out the cold water and refill from the tap again, and it seems to at least take the chill off the bed when I put it in. So, I'm too lazy to look for a different one, and it helps, but it isn't' the really warm, cozy thing I was hoping for. I haven't researched other brands, so they might all have the same advice to only use tap water.

What I enjoy about this is that it holds the heat very well. Even after a few hours it’s still warm. The plush covering is nice and helps to prevent you being burnt when boiling water is just poured into the bag and can be removed when it begins to cool down if you are not able to get the water reheated. Best of all it does help to ease the pain.

I bought these as an alternative to an electric blanket. I used to have a blanket but when it malfunctioned and I was doing research to purchase a new one, I realized it was a safety risk (many of the reviews were citing issues with the blanket I had just disposed of). I missed my toasty warm bed terribly. I am happy to say that two of these bottles have done the trick. I purchased a three more so the rest of the family could enjoy a toasty bed as well. The bottles are sturdy, seal tightly and retain heat well (the water is still warm when I dump it the following evening) and the warmth is just right, not too intense. The fleece cover is comfy and stays in place. My only complaint is how much the price fluctuated, which I'm not sure has much to do with the product. I originally put these on my Wish List and they were around $15, but after the holidays purchased them myself and noticed the price had dropped to around $10. I understand some fluctuation, but that's a significant percentage.

My husband and I usually have some sort of back pain, so I got this thinking it would help. It keeps its heat fairly well, but not for more than an hour I'd say. I'm not really sure what I expected, but since the rubber is so thick, it's a bit hard to get comfortable with this while using it. I was hoping to use it on my neck as well, but due to its shape and the material, it doesn't flex well, so you really can't use it around your shoulders. I'm thinking we will just have to spend the extra money and get one of those small heated fabrics ones so we can use it anywhere and have the consistent heat.

We've had many types of water bottles (for pre warming the bed) and this type is by far the best. It doesn't leak and lasts a long time (some others crack over time). It doesn't need to be this brand (we've used various brands), but this type.
