Tuft & Needle Original Foam Pillow, Standard Size with T&N Adaptive Foam

Bought this as an alternative to the down feather pillows I've had and been loyal to, for years. This pillow is quite a contrast, much more head support, it just might be the thing needed for mild sleep apnea. It cradles my head nicely in any position (back, side) and also provides very pleasant, very nice neck support. I think I maybe saying byebye to the feather pillows soon. I am not an impulse buyer by any means, but saw this on Amazon Prime Day specials, and for $41, gave it a try -- I'm glad I did. I like that the cover comes off and is washable. It's quite perky and holds its shape; a positive addition. I noticed I'm sleeping deeper with less tossing and repositioning during the night. It's a supportive, comfort purchase I'm quite pleased with. July 2026 - I'm back to say I still love this pillow. Actually look forward to laying my head down on it at night!

I’m not a regular reviewer. But honestly, this pillow is my savior. It’s soft. It’s soft but supports my head. I have cervical stenosis and disk issues, and I’m over 60. As we age, we crave softness due to pressure points. Well, I need support too and this Tuft & Needle pillow is awesome.

UPDATE Jan2023: Dropped my rating by a star again (4*) for too-variable weight/denstiy , which should not be the case for a premium, mass-produced item. I got a new pillow...and it was oddly very soft (like my 2.5yr old one), not at all like my "needs breaking in" one.. Got yet another one, and it was better. I was suspicious so I weighed them all. * 2.5 year old: 4lb 1oz * needs-breaking-in: 4lb 12oz * too-soft-when-new: 4lb 6oz * newest-pretty-good: 4lb 9oz That's all over the place (big differences by percentage) even for the ones all shipped in 2022. These aren't being made by hand, so there's clearly some quality-control issues. Also the free "standard" size I was sent when I asked about the lifespan of my oldest one? Feels like some entirely other kind of foam. For this pricing, I expect an excellent pillow and a consistent experience. No idea why the manufacturer doesn't also expect consistency. Also note the price here has varied dramatically... UPDATE Nov2022: I wore out my original pillow around 2.5 years use, it's still usable for side-sleep but too squishy now for back sleeping. I contacted T&N customer support, who said a 3-yr lifespan is about normal, which makes sense for a foam pillow. Loved the performance, so I got another one which reminded me that it does take a few weeks of use to fully break-in. So if you don't love yours at first, give it some time (or use it on the couch first) to break it in. UPDATE Jan2019: After 10 months of continuous use, I'm pretty well pleased! My neck has gotten used to the lower angle. The pillow hasn't broken down at all (it's just as supportive), though it's a little more pliable than it was two months in (can bunch it a little now). I've shifted my opinion to "worth the price" if you like foam pillows, and upped my rating to 5 stars. (original review follows) --- After two months using the king-size, I like this pillow but I'm still not certain I like it a hundred bucks much. It holds its shape very well, not squishing down as much as memory-foam, and indents under your head in a predictable way. But it's relatively thin and malleable in a way that can feel too low on the bed, especially for side sleeping. It also gets warmer than my feather-based pillows. Depending on your sleep style, there's more things that may annoy. You can't really put an arm under the pillow. You can't bunch it up. It's too low (by itself) for reading in bed. But on the positive, it resists squishing. The density seems to do a good job of supporting your head at the correct angle for neck ergonomics (that's presuming your mattress isn't sagging!). There was no noticeable smell to the new pillow, and it arrives very well packaged (not compressed). I should note I'm not using a T&N bed (rather, a 14" Serta foam mattress), and T&N do indicate this pillow is specifically matched to their bed. Also note their "King-size" is a true king size, not a Queen/King. You'll need actual king cases for this pillow, and the two king sets I had were still a tight fit. Overall I like this pillow, and it's encouraging me to sleep with my neck at a healthier angle. I'd previously slept at too sharp an angle, and it took some time to "unlearn" that. For my other concerns, I still keep the old feather pillows around, and use them on top of this T&N when I need more height or want to side-sleep. If you like foam pillows, you'll like this one. Recommended.

I hate to admit this but I can’t count the number of pillows I’ve bought over the yrs hoping to find the perfect pillow. I am loving this pillow soooo much that I HAD to write a review! I spent the night at my daughter’s home and slept on her Tuft and Needle pillow. When I saw it I thought it wasn’t going to be a good night. But honestly to my tremendous surprise I had the best night of my life! Absolutely NO neck pain or headache in the morning which I usually have every morning with my other pillows. Plus it stays cooler thru the night! I really feel like my head in laying on a soft cloud - a literal cloud! I will NEVER buy a different pillow than my Tuft and Needle pillow!!! It’s well worth the $$$$!!! Highly highly recommend this pillow! And it’s a heavy pillow but don’t be concerned. For some reason it all works! And I love my silk pillowcase on it!!!

Genuinely happy with this pillow. I don't wake up and adjust nor do i need to fluff it out. I haven't noticed a difference with the coolness/heatness level but i haven't been sweating in bed as often as i used to. It comes in small and you cut up the plastic and allow it to expand, much like their mattress. This is a very comfortable pillow, albeit a bit expensive for what it is. EDIT: So after sleeping with this for a while I wanted to update my review. I left my old one for comparison. This pillow has lost almost all heft to it, I feel. I don't experience neck pain however when i'm sleeping, I find myself more often than not waking up to adjust the pillow just between my neck and head so that i can sleep on my side comfortably. There is less than an INCH of pillow when my head is weighing down on the corners. Not a fan of that at all. In terms of heat? It's like literally every other pillow, no noticeable difference. For the price this thing was? NOT WORTH IT. But it's still a comfortable pillow so I won't be throwing it away anytime soon. But I don't agree with what I paid for it and I warn anyone else thinking this is some sort of more special pillow than the rest. It's not.

I suffer from chronic migraines and severe neck arthritis that causes painful spasms. I've spent a fortune on pillows hoping to find relief, and used to switch pillows multiple times per night trying to get comfortable. After several weeks with the Tuft & Needle pillow, I haven't been tempted to switch even once. It feels incredibly soft yet provides excellent support without being rigid. The loft is perfect for cradling my head and neck. While it hasn't eliminated my pain (likely nothing will), I'm finally comfortable at night, which honestly feels like a miracle. Highly recommend for side sleepers dealing with neck issues. This pillow has given me something I thought was impossible: a full night's sleep without pillow switching.

Awful- I lasted two months using it before having terrible neck pain. My last (best ever) pillow was the lux living “coconut” pillow that I purchased from mattress firm in 2018. That pillow was losing its firmness after 6 years so I was on a hunt for something comparable and this is NOT it. Upon taking it out of the box I realized how soft it is but it seemed heavy like the coconut one. The reason I didn’t return it was because I didn’t think I’d be able to get a king back in the tiny little box it came in. I should have returned it instead of using it because I’ve had terrible neck pain for the last week. I saw the chiropractor twice and even had a massage. I’m finally feeling better but stopped using this pillow after the third awful night this past week. Check out a millet/buckwheat pillow. I sleep on my side and back and after one night of using a millet pillow- I’ve been awake for 8 hours and haven’t taken any Tylenol or ibuprofen. Avoid this at all costs. It’s too soft and is not supportive at all.

At the time of writing this review, I've only had the pillow for about a month, I am also a back/side sleeper and 6'1 250 with what I'd say are fairly broad shoulders. It's honestly somewhat hard to describe this pillow since it's the first of it's kind that I've used. It's very soft to a certain point, but not soft to the point where it just gives in without any resistance. Of course after a certain point it becomes firm but not rock hard when the foam compresses. Firm enough to sleep on my side while also being soft enough to sleep on my back and provide support for my head/neck. I bought this pillow about a week after buying the bed since my previous pillows didn't feel right anymore. It did have a slight smell after opening it, but it only lasted about a day, and it wasn't bad enough that I smelled it through my pillowcase while sleeping. The first few nights took a bit of getting used to, my old setup had me using 2 pillows, a larger soft one and a thinner hard one with the hard one angled downward so that my shoulders could rest on it while sleeping. So when I switched, it was a completely different feeling. At first I was regretting my purchase since I couldn't find a comfortable position, the issue was that I was still trying to get my shoulders to rest on the pillow which raised my neck and head too high. After getting used to the pillow though, I can confidently say that I do not regret purchasing it at all. I cannot say whether or not this is a great value or anything since this is my first pillow above $30, but that's still fine, the pillow provides enough comfort and support for me.

It was incredibly soft and comfortable... but unfortunately it was too tall for me and given the price I couldn't justify keeping it. It'd be nice if it were adjustable. I returned it and got a refund without any issue.

The tuft and Needle king size pillow is so comfortable to sleep on and is just what I was looking for. It arrived on time from Amazon and was in perfect condition. I would recommend this pillow to anyone that wants a comfortable memory foam pillow to sleep on.

3 stars cause it is awesome for my wife but i suffer neck pain and shoulder ache. I had purchased 2 adaptive form pillows for myself and my wife. The pillow works well for my wife who is petite in size and a side sleeper. And she decided to keep it The pillow is soft and comfortable but it provide little support for me. The pillow 5inch loft falls to 2-3 inch upon lying my head down on the pillow. I wanted it to work as i had read many postive review for this pillows. But it cause neck and shoulder ache for me. I am 176cm tall and weights 80kg. And a side sleeper. Sadly it doesn't suit me and I will be returning the pillow. Amazon return procedure had made it smooth and pleasant for me. It provide me with confident to continue to make purchases through amazon. I had received a great customer service for my refund request. Hopes this review helps the rest who is deciding if the pillows is suitable for you.

I have been trying to find some king size pillows for our bed for along time. We don't have a great selection of that size in Australia. These pillows are just a dream to sleep on, I would even say better than good latex pillows. I am very happy with my purchase and highly recommend them.

This a great pillow with just the right firmness and has improved my sleep. It also was the most expensive of the pillows that I reviewed. Have had it for about a month. Let's hope it lasts.
