Is Your Company Ready for Cloud: Choosing the Best Cloud Adoption Strategy for Your Business (IBM Press) Paperback – 5 July 2012

I enjoyed this book primarily due to the depth and breath of coverage of the subject matter. All too often enterprises view cloud adoption tactically and indeed react to increasing incidents of rogue or shadow IT cloud deployment. I recall three key take aways from the book that were especially meaningful to me: (1) Cloud is not just about cost reduction and efficiency, it can be a source of new revenue streams and/or more revenue from existing revenue streams. (2) Enterprise Architects should be prioritizing cloud as a component of their enterprise architecture strategy. (3) The book provides useful examples of financial models to quantify the value of strategic cloud adoption.

Not a bad book and it provides good insights. It feels like concepts are repeated throughout the chapters and that there needed to be another editing review for sentence structure and continuity.

2.5 stars. This is an okay book but it just does not have as much actionable meat within it.
