Nice shears
These work really well. They cut bigger branches than I expected. If youโre cutting a thicker branch and the shears โclickโ, be sure to allow the handles to open all the way back up before trying to cut further so it will continue to cut the rest of the way through.

Excellent Ratchet Cutting and Easy to Grip
Cuts through stems like butter! I love ratchet cutters of all types. These are terrific! As a women with aging hands I need garden tools that work. These work! The handles fit my hands and are easy to do continuous cuts. They make clean cuts, no furred eadges on green stems. these cut through dry, dead wood up to 1 inch and through green, live stems up to 1 1/2", because of the ratchet system. The aluminum body cleans and dries quickly. One comment is that the locking mechanism is kind of hard to slide closed: I have to close the the pruners "just right" in order to slide the locking mechanism. Sliding it locked is easy, I just have to get the pruners closed exactly right.

A little smaller than other rachet pruners
I used them for two hours today for the first time. They are 7 1/2 " long. A bit less in length than others I have had. I have arthritis in my cutting hand. They were effective in pruning roses and crepe myrtle. I noticed that if you made shallower cuts, released and resqueezed repetitively for 1/4" to 1/2" branches there was a lot less strain on the hand, even tho it would have cut completely with one squeeze. I did not get blisters but I did wear gloves. My hand was not tired at all. Close as I could get to my favorite Gardenite brand. I did like the hand loop, and you can use the loop to hang for storing.

They work ok, with some caveats
Summary: Just ok. They work, but the quality control is not great, and the company never responded to my inquiry (I gave them three weeks to respond). I did test them, they work but you are trading strength for repetitions. They max out if you try to cut much above 1/2" diameter. My Felco pruners can manage at least 3/4", and up to 1" if you are determined. The quality control issue has to do with the rivet which was not pressed completely. The metal edge is rough and sits proud of the pruners. It catches when moving in and out of my pocket. The beauty of these is they lock shut and can be pocketed, so this kind of ruins that. Ultimately, these would be good if you have very low grip strength but need single handed pruners. If you have decent grip strength, go with Felco.

These work great.
Good quality shears for the price. I over did it and bent them a bit. They can cut very thick branched.

Just what you need
As a master gardener, I have gone through a lot of sheers and pruners. Most don't last the season. These are soooo much better. The build quality is fabulous. They are strong, tight, and VERY sharp. I will be ordering another set for my wife (also a master gardener) because she won't let me have mine back until she gets her own pair. You need these if you do any gardening at all.
