Limited applications but still great idea
Brilliant idea but won't fit your gutters if you have a gutter spike close to the outlet.

Keep leaves out of your gutter downspouts
I installed these over my gutter downspouts. They kept getting clogged with leaves every fall. They kept the leaves out this fall. Now I need something to keep the wasps from building nests inside the downspouts.

Giving it a 3.5 For now
First, I ordered white but what I got was really gray. Better than green, but certainly not white. Fortunately in single story home I don’t see them.Assembly was simple. They fit into my gutters ok, but there is lots of play that has me concerned it will shift and expose part of the downspout opening. I wish there was a way to extend the base and customize a tighter fit. In the spring I’ll probably explore some type of modification with the extra ones I have or something else.I got these to hopefully reduce clogging on two buried downspouts. Time will tell. I doubt the leaves will “float” off the wedge and fully expect these to become where blockage will occur. But if it keeps leaves out of the downspout I’ll be happy.

I Bought These 6 Years Ago & They Are Great!
I had my roof replaced in September.I could see how well these had worked, keeping leaves and debris out of my downspouts all this time!

I have zero faith... what you'll want to know
I dont trust these to do what they say. However, I am going to see if I am wrong, as they are not super expensive.1 - they are pretty narrow. I have standard sized gutters (not the larger ones) and these fit with a lot more spaces on the sides than expected.2 - When assembled, they are not a tight fit at the front of the wedge shape. There is a gap between the bottom and the top. I have maple trees and that gap is plenty large enough for maple seeds3 - With the loose fit, I am not sure how they are suppose to stay in place during high windsTHE FIX???I was replacing mushroom shaped wire mesh in most the gutters. If you take the bottom piece off that goes into the downspout and re-open the back end of the wedge, then you can pretty easily thread the thinner bottom of the mess through bottom of this wedge. In doing so, this should block any maple seeds and the wire mesh gets stuck on the screws that hold the downspout on so it will all stay in place even in high winds. In short, this item in conjunction with some other item like I have done will work wonderfully on keeping the downspout from being clogged inside.MY HOPEMy biggest hope is not needing to clean out gutters any longer... I'm not feeling confident, but I am being hopeful; time will tell. If this also works well in the two spots that I didn't have mushroom screens already, or if the leaves really do blow out of the gutters, then I will update the review.

Easy to assemble but lacking in function
Clogged gutters are a frequent issue from spring to fall around the house. If they’re not blocked by pinecones or needles in the spring, they will be by deciduous leaves in the fall. I tried these gutter guards as a potential solution to reduce the need for monthly gutter cleanings. Unfortunately, they really don't work. While they do reduce the amount of debris entering the gutter pipe, they shift the blockage upstream to the guard itself, creating a wet, tangled mess of leaves, needles, and twigs that must be manually removed. Although these guards showed some promise, it’s time to look for a more effective solution.

Effective
The down spout in the pictures is right under a cottonwood tree. It used to get clogged so bad that the water would just pool in the gutter. As you can see, the gutter is dry and the wedge caught all the cottonwood debris from the latest storm. So I’d say they work. I’d imagine big leaves will be even easier for this than the little cottonwood shells and cotton.
