Sound amplification and quality!
Adding this to an alexa echo dot 4th gen really amplified and improved the quality of the sound. As a senior with hearing issues, I can finally hear the alarm in the morning. This was exactly what I was looking for. In almost all metrics this unit exceeded all my expectations m

Best speaker I've ever had!

Quality speaker with good sound, not really worth $100 IMO though..
It's "good", but not "great". I'm giving this speaker 4 stars, because while it IS very nice and appears to be of good quality, it's NOT $100.00 worth of great. The value for money just isn't there for me.The sound quality is "good", not what I'd call "high fidelity" though. It sounds comparable to my Altec Lansing portable Bluetooth speaker that I use at the office. The design and controls on top of the speaker are really nice though, there's an actual volume adjust knob and a dedicated on/off toggle switch. Very nice features and nice touches that earn high marks with me.What REALLY sold me on this speaker was that it's for home use and can be plugged into a wall outlet. I wanted something that would be nice to flip on in the evenings, put on some music, or listen to a podcast while in the recliner. This is perfect for that. Again, the cost is a little steep for what it is and what it does, I'd feel more comfortable in the $50-$60 price range - but I'm still keeping it because I like it.

So good I bought another one!
I bought a Tewell several months back to have for a speaker in the garage. This thing sounded so good and plently loud, I knew at the time I made a good purcahse. I just received my second one to go up to our cabin. I'm playing it now..... Both were also very easy to set-up; in fact no set up was required really - just plug in, pull up the bluethooth setting on the iphone and bang, it's off an running. What I really like about this speaker (aside from ease of set-up, loudness and overall sound/frequency response) is:-It has a real concentric volume pot to adjust volume! Wierd! Huge priority when I was looking at a speaker in the first place. I HATE up/down arrows to adjust volume. 1, You can't ever see them. 2, They are slow to respond and sloppy. A real knob was a must! This has it and is very smooth to boot. I needed the ability to quickly reach over, without looking and turn the speaker down "in real time"; the only way to achive that is with a real knob. Did I say I like the traditional concentric type knob/pot?-It has a real toggle power switch!! Wow, will the wonders ever cease?! A real honest-to-goodness power switch that flips on or off. Simple yet effective. You can look and immeditatly see the status. No "slop" in powering up with push button types where you have to hold down for 5 seconds and hope it comes on, hold and push down for another 5 seconds to turn off. ARRGGG, those suck! It lights up immediately upon the flip of the on switch to let you know its ready.-Lastly, it is a cool looking retro style speaker with a 60's style face cloth that reminds me of an old VOX guitar amplifer. Both mine are covered in the brown "leather" to furthur add to the retro/guitar amp look. all this combined with the chrome toggle switch and knob make this a functional and attractive package. Its very sturdy and fells "quality", not cheap. It has some weight to it and is NOT portable as it must have AC mains pluged in to function (or 14 VDC input). So this is not the speaker for you if you require it to go portable without power. The bass frequencies are great for such a "small" speaker and the port on the rear really is functional as you can fell it move air on certain songs that have alot of low frequencies. The only thing that may make this perfect overall is if it had at least a 2-band parametric EQ... But hey, what do you want for $50?!A+, 5 stars!!!

My mom loves it
My mom needed a replacement when her tv ears bean speaker quit working. She’s hard of hearing and having soundbars don’t work as they sit too far away, so she likes a speaker by her chair. I searched around for a Bluetooth speaker that would fit on her ottoman and this looked good. She absolutely loves the buttons so she can quickly change the volume with a knob. The other essential feature was for it to be a wall plug. It’s compact, quick to connect, easy to use for an older woman. And this was half the price of a new tv ears which had mixed reviews. She’s so happy with this, the retro look was a bonus.

Suspect Sound, Super Cool Looking
I've been searching for a bluetooth speaker to add to my whiskey cabinet. I wanted something that looked really cool first but actually sounded decent too. The retro design caught my eye, it was on sale, and the reviews said the sound was pretty good.So about that sound... I plugged it into the wall, connected quickly to my phone (this was easy compared to some other bluetooth speakers) and fired up The Elovaters on Spotify. First thing I noticed when I turned on the speaker - there's a faint amplifier type noise floor with what can only be described as a guitar effect like heavy reverb to the bluetooth connection ping. Have they taken the "retro" to heart and I'm about to listen to an AM radio?Music starts, it's thin, flat, heavy reverb and just plan garbage. Check reviews again, see a few similar comments and that it "resolved" itself. Having worked in digital audio development for many years (JBL, H/K, Line 6), I'm thinking maybe this little amp needs to burn in to get going??? I'm also wondering about quality control on the factory floor...After a couple days and probably 6-8 hours of use, it's still less than acceptable sound. There's a relatively high noise floor that's annoying. It sounds a bit better if I put the volume on my phone all the way up. The bluetooth connection is noisy as well. I've got about 25 days left to return. We'll see.
