Makes a nasty job better than tolerable
My cat uses this thing and i love it. No more lifting heavy cat boxes of litter, lugging it outside, cleaning and lugging it back in. It's too big for the place i have it, which makes maneuvering the used litter tray out a bit difficult, but gather up the sides of the bag, tie it off, put a new bag over the tray and replace the tray, and away to the trash i go with a contained bag of pee and poo. Comes with deodorant cartridges, which i haven't used because the litter is nicely scented, but if it comes to that, they're ready to go. I feel more confident there won't be house accidents if i go away for a couple days. the unit is well thought out, does as advertised, cat will use it, and it's not noisy, smelly, or obnoxious. It doesn't talk back, nor does it mind a cat taking a dump in it. It's a wonderful thing... who could ask for more? Do i think it's worth the price? Yeah, it is. If i get a couple years out of it, it will have paid for itself. I only have the one cat so far, so there isn't a lot of strain on the unit to keep up with versus a house full of cats. A cat lady might opt for several of these, but she'll save her back in the long run. So the one does a great job for me. Had it about 2 months so far. No complaints. Just need to keep talking myself out of getting another cat. Do i think it would handle another cat? Yeah, probably, but this cat lady, fingers crossed, will never know. But they're so darned adorable! No, no more cats. But? No! But little buddy needs a little buddy! No she doesn't. Let go of the keyboard. Quit typing... Hey, i'm not fini... Yes you are. Sorry folks. Don't mind the cat lady.

Overpowering smell
Where do I start. Had High hopes for this machine. Assembled pretty easily which is why I gave it 4 stars. Would have given 5 but was unable to pair with the phone app. Worked as expected for about 3 weeks but came down one morning and the red light was flashing. I pushed the button and watched the unit spin past where it normally stops and reverses but kept going and spilled litter all over the floor and also into the waste pan in the bottom. Filled it back up and it continued to do the same thing. Finally unplugged it and put it in the garage and broke out the old pan.Update:I contacted the company and and explained what was going on. They told me to try and update the firmware which I did. Still didn't fix the problem. So the company sent me a replacement new unit and now everything is working fine. The product paired to my phone app. The smell is better but I noticed the automatic deodorizing feature has been removed form the app. I was told it is no longer needed. Hope this is true and it continues working. After a few days, I brought it back in and set it up again. Has worked normally ever since. But the biggest issue and why I gave it 1 star is that it smells really bad. We have 2 cats and I have to dump the tray at least once and sometimes twice a day. Its not filled. It just the smell is escaping the tray and fills the house. The little deodorizer isn't cutting it.I went online to see if I was doing something wrong and watched a video that stated that I should be cleaning the unit and spending up to 15 minutes a day doing various aspects of cleaning it. Really? Where was this mentioned when I was paying $498? If I would have seen that, I would have passed.Do yourself and your nose a favor and look elsewhere.

UPDATE- worked with the company, amended issues; ORIGINAL: Great when it was working
UPDATE: the company reached out and has done SO much to amend the issues we’ve had. They actually sent us a new litter box, which is so appreciated given our original ended up not sorting itself out after many tries. Still quite a hefty investment to make, but I’d say it’s worth it.ORIGINAL: I was initially so happy I made the leap to purchase this litter box for my home. I have back problems, so scooping litter is generally painful and something I dread. However, within the first week or so, I really felt the ease of this product. No smell, no issues, and no scooping! Also, the size and shape of this one make it absolutely perfect for a smaller apartment. It was fantastic. However, after only about three weeks of use, there have been quite a few glitches that have consequentially made the litter box unusable.Namely, clumps get stuck when disposing (despite using the correct amount and type of litter recommended/changing the type of litter), which defeats the purpose of why I purchased this. But most significantly, the rotator mechanism will either a) continuously rotate despite there being no more waste to dispose, or b) get stuck with the emptying hole facing the bottom after cleaning (when my cat isn’t around, so it’s not stopping to keep her safe or anything); both issues have been making the box inaccessible for my cat to use, and both of which have resulted in accidents outside the box since I didn’t notice the malfunction in time. We’ve gone through all the troubleshooting we could find, including here on Amazon, the provided app, forums, Facebook groups, etc., and no suggestions have seemed to help. Luckily, we kept my cat’s old box for her to use while we figure out what to do with this one, but it definitely feels like we ate $400+.I can imagine that when everything is in proper working order, this litter box is well worth the money and SUCH a time saver. However, when it’s not working, it can be a bit of a headache and a disappointment. It might be worth looking elsewhere for a different robot litter box, at least until the software kinks are worked out here.

I think I hate it
Goes off line all the time ! It's a pain to get litter inside. Apparently someone had some splatter now I have to take it apart completely to clean it. Had to use toilet paper to dislodge chunks that did not fall through ! Tried trouble shooting & that didn't work. Can't be the WiFi/router because everything in this house is working but the dumb litter box ! I had ordered 2nd one but it's still in the box! Not impressed. It worked for 4 days and went off line when I was on vacation so my pet sitter had to clean a regular litter box! Thanks a lot people! What a waste of money. Not sure I'm even keeping this one! Don't buy one is my advice.Ok it's been a few months. I kept one and returned the other.Good grief if you've got messy cats? This thing will hold such an awful smell! Those little deodorizers do not work! Smelled rotten even though I was emptying out the bags. I have to take the whole thing apart and scrub it, dry it and reset it. Wait a while because all of the new dry litter you just put in there will dump to the bag underneath! So you have to pull the waste bag out and pour the litter back in through the top because it literally has not been used it just cycled through and emptied out all of the litter. I will buy a more expensive top of the line one next time when I can afford it.This is not part of any promotion etc. just being brutally honest. I have 5 cats and I'm still forced to use regular litter boxes in addition to this one.Hoping that I can purchase better ones and stop scooping twice a day.
