I see people saying it's just "French SPAM", and I'm here to say, That's exactly what it is: a higher quality, cleaner, delicious SPAM alternative without the additives, and from more sustainably raised pigs from local farms in Bretagne . If that's not your thing, that's cool... more for me!

This pate is on the expensive side, but tastes really good with some crackers, or crusty sourdough bread. Love the texture.

I was really looking forward to a French pate that had a little bit more liver flavored in it. This product though it’s good for the most part is no better than American spam. This is basically French spam and they just put the fancy descriptive word.., pate on it. If America’s put the word pate on their spam cans, it wouldn’t sell, but it’s basically the same product. The exception is, that French product cost more a lot more money. No value, the company putting product in this can is making over 500% return, when it most likely only cost around .80 one can US to produce.

These taste very similar to SPAM, but less salty and better flavor. Spread on toast, crackle some pepper, top with cornichons, and I’m in heaven.

Good pate. Very convenient. I always have some in my pantry for a quick lunch on some buttered toast. I like to add a little ground black pepper, but that's just my preference! Good value and quick shipping

Warm it in its own juice. Probably not good for you but tastes so good I dont care.

In France, the word 'pate' just means a mix of meat with herbs and spices.Not all pates are super rich or supposed to be spreadable.This is the pate French kids are first exposed to. It's got a great savory flavor.It's the kind of product that even when you graduate to richer pate, this is a comforting consistent.and familiar 'taste of home' that is always sure to please, and why most pate loving French, never out grow it.So it should never be compared to a soft liver pate. Henaff fully fits the definition of a pate, it's just a firmer texture, like the different between a flan and a pudding.It's not considered a 'gormet'' pate in France. It's considered the pate you first grew up with, know, love, take on camping trips, because you know it's consistently dependable, familiar, and delicious!
