East Coast Bedding European Pure Down Pillow, 800 Fill Power, 400 Thread Count Cotton Sateen Shell, King Firm

I took a chance on this pillow given the few reviews at the time of my purchase and I'm glad I did. When it arrived, at first I thought it might not have enough filling as it was not as high/ thick as expected. Fluffing it up improved it put putting it in the dryer for just 5 minutes or so on low heat or just air made an even bigger - and longer lasting - improvement. Now I just quickly fluff it once a day and it's perfect for me. I am a side sleeper and toss/turn change position constantly during sleep (or attempted sleep as is the case far too often!). This is one of the few pillows I have used that I'm able to easily mold and get comfortable with. The cheaper down pillows I have bought turn into just pancakes during the night while most of the alternative down type pillows seem to have too much resistance/firmness. Unless you are someone who likes to sleep on a super firm pillow, I suspect most folks will find this pillow very nice and comfortable. It seems to almost be somewhat "adjustable" with regard to firmness/ thickness depending upon how often - and to what degree- it is fluffed and you can pretty much adjust how deep your head will sink in this way (to a much greater degree as compared with cheaper down pillows I have used). Maybe this is due to fill power and/ or the amount of down used, I don't know. As a side note, I spent over $200 trying other pillows before finding this one. First there was the Tempur-Pedic memory foam pillow with cooling gel that felt so great in the store. Retailed for around $190 - purchased for half-price. My head sank in perfectly at the beginning of a nights sleep but then I discovered it practically felt like sleeping on a super thick - and very heavy -brick, particularly when tossing/ turning throughout the night. Ironically, my wife ended up loving this pillow as she doe not toss/ turn at all and is asleep within minutes. Next I tried a cheaper down pillow from JCPenny. Supposedly retails for $120 but on sale for $40. I believe it was described as "Arctic Down". This one turned into a flat pancake during the night no matter how often it was fluffed. Finally I tried an inexpensive down alternative type pillow but it was too firm/ less malleable than a down pillow. So, like Goldilocks, this 800 Fill power European down pillow is just right. Geez, what an ordeal to find a pillow!

Queen size, firm 800 fill power 2 pillow set. Because all down pillows are expensive, before buying these, I did a lot of comparison shopping both on and off Amazon. I read up on fill power for down as well as what to expect from down vs feathers or combinations of the two. I looked at prices for items of similar description and specifications and customer reviews for satisfaction. Eastcoast Bedding ticked all the boxes. The pillows are big and fluffy, and really comfy when sitting upright to read in bed. I'm a side sleeper. They are not heavy or too firm and compress perfectly to support my neck. The cotton covers are soft and well-sewn but I went ahead and ordered some good zip covers for them anyway because I want to keep them looking their best. It is actually kind of fun to fluff them up at bedtime, BTW and only takes a few seconds. I love sleeping on them they were a worthwhile purchase. There was no weird or bad smell as some negative reviews mentioned. They were packed in a spotless zip case that I can reuse to store extra bedding or out of season clothing.

I HAVE FUSED LUMBAR SPINE SO LOOK FOR PILLOW TO PROVIDE COMFORT FOR NECK AT NIGHT. I HAVE BEEN USING DOWN PILLOWS FOR YEARS. LAST ONE WAS TOO TOO FIRM. OLD ONES WERE FINE BUT DIED AFTER MANY YEARS OF SERVICE. SO TRYING THIS ONE. SO FAR SEEMS GOOD. MEDIUM FIRMNESS. I SLEEP ON RIGHT SIDE BECAUSE OF SPINE AND THIS SEEMS FINE FOR THAT.

I have bought and returned eight down pillows over the past six months and waited the full 30 days to make sure I'm keeping this one before writing a review. This pillow is by far the best one I've had and is a definite keeper. If you know the old story of "The Princess and the Pea" I am the princess. I feel every little thing so if there are feathers clumped or the pillow is too firm or if it becomes too flat, it will affect my sleep or I'll have a stiff neck in the morning. I gave this pillow 5 stars in every category except support and that's because I still need my favorite old down pillow as a top layer to give enough support for my neck. I love the feel of my new down pillow all by itself but I need just a little more height for it to be perfect. In all my pillow purchases and returns I learned the importance of the loft being a high number. The additional factor that made this pillow superior is that I ordered a King size even though my bed is a Queen. It fits the bed well enough if the person you sleep with has Queen pillows. With the King I can push the two sides towards the middle and have more loft if I want it. Also I didn't like having "wings" on either side of my head as the Queen sized pillows all had. From reading this you see how picky I am and you may not feel everything as I do. Truth be told I'm a senior which could be a contributing factor. Also during this Pandemic I want the very best sleeping experience since so many other activities have been taken away. If you want the very best down pillow and have tried many different ones without feeling satisfied I'd recommend you give this one a try.

The service from this vendor is great, but the product is really below par. Kept the pillows because I am too busy and forgot to return. The main issue is they are super soft after you use them. So they are nice and fluffy and somewhat firm when you fluff up, but after about 10 minutes of having your head on them they are flat as a pancake. I don't know what it is that makes them go so flat, and they don't have any shape after a few minutes either. Maybe I was expecting something firmer, but what I like is somewhere between hard and soft that stays puffy but conforms to my head. This isn't it. I won't buy again.

I am going to be honest, I bought these and the recommended "Best Value" Down pillows (about $60) on Amazon. I really wanted to know what the difference between the two would be, if any. I planned on trying both out for a night or two and then returning these ones due to the price being more. I got the best value brand and had a nice nights sleep on them. The next day, the East Coast Bedding pillows arrived. I have never felt a more wonderful, comfortable and noticeably different pillow. The softness and comfort levels are off the charts. This is a true Goose Down pillow that is worth the price. Needless to say, I did not return these and do not regret it for a second.

I’m giving this three stars for what’s expected from such an expensive pillow and the product quality. I will say I’ve never tried a 100% down pillow before so I’m trying to be fair because I would have given it a one star but that could just be my personal taste. It seems a lot smaller than a queen size pillow I can’t imagine how small a standard size is. Does not feel filled at all. I was expecting a full, fluffy pillow. This is not. When I press it it goes completely flat. This will not give me the support I need. I think I’m missing something here as so many sang the praise of this pillow. Can someone please tell me where can I buy hotel pillows?

Premium quality down pillow, really love it. Got my first standard size pillow a few years back, have been using it all the time, very comfortable and durable. Came back and got a queen size pillow for an upgrade.

Best sleep I ever had. Soft but great neck and head support. It will be white goose down pillows for life now!!

Arrived fairly quickly but when opened I noticed an odour which was not pleasant so decided to give it a quick wash in cold water as per instructions. That’s when I discovered the numerous black feathers. The pillow was advertised as white goose down so didn’t expect to see any black ones after paying over $300. Very disappointing! No explanation from manufacturer. Returned it but still waiting for a refund.
