Review: Well made, comfortable and supportive. - Having fit people with splints as part of my career, I was very pleased with the quality of this Thumb Spica splint. The stays can be removed to be adjusted. Supports the thumb and wrist well. Very good option for DeQuervain's stenosiing tenosynovitis and other conditions of the wrist and thumb. Review: 2 months of use and it wore off - It supports my left thumb and wrist but the fabric tore after 2 months. I had another one but that one had lasted longer..

Will work for it's purpose
For reference for future buyers: I am a woman with average sized arms and wrists and I ordered a small and it fits me well, their size chart is accurate. Pros: 1. This splint did help keep my wrist and thumb from moving around too much so I was better within 4-6 weeks. 2. It was comfortable for the most part and was easy to live with as I was still able to type and do many daily tasks unencumbered. 3. It will certainly work for most, it adjusts easily to your arm, wrist, and thumb size, so it can accommodate the person's individual needs easily. Also, being able to remove the metal splint bars to adjust for each person and the amount of mobility you want is nice. Cons: 1. I don't know if this is the case for the larger sizes, but with the small splint, unlike in the picture where the straps end and fold over flush at the side of the forearm, the velcro straps extend way beyond where they attach by at least 3 inches. While it doesn't negatively affect its fit or purpose, this leaves the leftover strap ends just flopping freely around. It doesn't look great as the ends straps get all bent and folded over time. If it bothers you then you can simply cut the excess off without it affecting the splint. I just accepted the floppy straps ends, but some people who have to wear it to work may not like that the straps aren't flush to the splint. 2. The inner comfort sock wasn't hemmed and so it unraveled within a few days of normal wear, this caused me to have to constantly cut off clumps of loose strands and not use the inner sock. This didn't affect the splint, but it affected the appearance greatly. 3. On occassion the thumb velcro would catch and snag on my clothing, particularly chiffon and other types of breezy fabric that you really don't want around velcro, so make sure to avoid wearing fabrics that snag easily.

Exactly what I needed
I hurt my wrist and needed some support and came across this one on Amazon that looked like a good quality brace. I read the sizing guide and followed it. I have average to large hands, but based on my wrist size, I ordered a small and it fits very well. If you order it too large, the straps won't be able to fasten well, which is one of the complaints I read in the lower scoring reviews. The straps have Velcro that folds over onto itself. If the brace is too large, the straps will not work correctly. There are Velco strips sewn into the brace, but the straps are the same material on the ends, so they won't stick there. I think the design could be made better in that respect, but getting the right size will go a long way in making the brace comfortable and useful. I can't comment on durability since I just received it. I work at a computer, so it will get minimal abuse, but it does feel well made and durable.

Not very durable, fit is a little odd for my small wrists
I bought these several years ago to replace my old ones and didn't feel like going to the doc about it(the ones I originally got prescribed from doc kind of sucked anyway). I didn't have to wear them very often until a few weeks ago. They were in almost new condition. I would guess around 4-6 weeks of wearing them at least 75% of the time have made these start to fall apart in more ways than one. Several of the seams are very close to coming completely undone, and the metal bar that stabilizes the thumb has worn a hole through the cloth. The removable wide metal splint comes out more often than some other similar wrist braces I have tried. I have pretty small wrists and the fit especially around where the metal splint curves doesn't seem quite right; maybe that's why they come out so frequently. Another thing to mention is the straps. They stick out so far. I thought about just trimming them off, but it does make it easier to put them on, especially when my wrists are so bad. I unfortunately have to say I would not purchase these again, and now am in the market for new ones.
