But, yes it seems there is always a snag- the hat is a little too small for me. Before I ordered it I took careful note of the size listed (Millimeters-62) and I measured the circumference of my head just above the eyebrows - the standard way of measuring for hat size. There is no way that this hat is 62 mm (it is also supposed to be XXXL in size). Even though it is a bit tight I will wear it as I like it that much. Oddly, this seller does not provide a link to her e-store if she has one, or information on whether there is a larger size offered.

I like the hat but can't understand why none can make a hat that can if a head.

I debated on the color and decided on the grey and this hat exceeded my expectations! It was only like $30 with shipping, it came very quickly, and the size is perfect!! It seems extremely well made for such a low price.Entire outside, including all sides of flaps, is covered with the "fur," unlike some similar hats. The lining is a nice quilted fabric. The supplied insignia is a little difficult to attach, but it is not plastic and very authentic looking. It has 4 long prongs like stems that you push in and spread outward and flat inside of the flap. Nothing shows on other side or pokes you like the backs of some pins that you have to worry about falling off. It seems like you could rip it off if you wanted, but it will not just fall off which is comforting. I measured my head with a tape measure and then added about a half an inch because I hate tight hats. I ordered the XXXL and it fits with some room to spare! It's enough room to be comfortable, but not be way too big. I saw some people mention that they run small, but according to the size chart and converting cm to inches, it worked out for me perfectly!! I highly recommend as a gift for someone or yourself. Not only is it an amazing costume piece, it's also very warm and functional. I can't wait till winter to really enjoy it. Also, it says MADE IN BELARUS, which I had to look up and apparently it is a country that became independent from Russia in the last couple of decades or so. I'd say that's pretty authentic. It ships from inside the U.S. which helps its shipping be so cheap and speedy. Thank you so much for this priceless hat!!!!!!

The product is either an authentic Soviet military hat or close enough (I didn't have a chance to use it as I was wearing the uniform in summer only when in Soviet army). For the price this is a great purchase, I love it on my daughter's boyfriend, a nice North-American kid, he looks so Russian :). One word of caution, the size XXXL is more like 61 cm, not 63 as the description suggests so it is a little small for me.

This is the first ushanka I ever bought. They always seemed looked way cool when I saw them in movies and pictures about the soviet union, and I recently decided to buy one for the winter. I found this on amazon and decided to purchase it. Shipping was quick, considering it came all the way from russia, and the hat itself is excellent. Very comfortable, incredibly warm, and very soft. The insignias that are included are detachable and interchangeable, and the seller even included a cool coin. I would recommend this hat for anyone looking for an authentic ushanka to help ride out the cold winter months!

Amazing hat. I bought it a couple years ago and haven't looked back. When the flaps are drawn down, you really cannot feel cold or wind in this monster. It's a great conversation starter too apparently because wherever I go people constantly ask me question about this hat, where I got it, the insignia, how warm is it, etc. Absolutely love it and would recommend it to anyone who needs just one winter hat to keep them warm forever.
