EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED

I wanted to get the same shredder that we've been using for our small office for my home, but sadly that's no longer available. Amazon suggested this one as a substitute.It does the most important thing - shredding paper and junk mail - without clogging or making a dusty mess, which is the experience I've had with other home shredders. It went through several mailers that I didn't even need to take out of the envelope and didn't jam on plastic windows or weird inserts. I ran it continuously for about 10 min without overheating issues.The resulting shreds are nice, tiny, crinkled bits that destroy any sensitive information and can, in a pinch, be used for cat box filler in case of national shortages. (For other crazy cat people looking at this model, my cats have informed me they do NOT like the noise this machine makes and will be hiding under the furniture until I turn it off.)I have two issues with this particular model: one, the body and bin are fairly lightweight plastic. The body is only three sides, which made inserting the wheels without damaging or warping the chassis a little hard. I also had trouble getting the top, bin and body all lined up correctly the first time - and if you don't get it right, the unit won't power on or even tell you if it's getting power, which was confusing.The second issue is that the main elements of this shredder are all in the top unit - power supply, shred, controls, etc - which makes it top-heavy. If the floor isn't completely level, or the wheels are inserted unevenly, it wobbles.However, neither of these are enough to make me regret the purchase. It's good value for the price and does a solid job for normal home use.

Got the shredder and it works and has continued to work. I’m very happy with it!

I like that it cuts/minces the paper into such small pieces that it feels soft like pillow stuffing and no one could ever put the pieces of paper back together again--Privacy!The vibration made while shredding makes the basket shimmy/wriggle its way open enough to stop the shredder. I never leave it unattended while in use. If the material used for the frame and bin were more heavy weight, it would be perfect. To get that, you would have to pay more. The motor which sits on top is the only part that is heavy. If you have small children or frisky pets, I would not recommend leaving it unattended!

I bought this exactly 2 years ago and with minimal usage it didn’t last. The one I had before (different brand) lasted almost 10! Would not recommend this brand at all.
