My bottle has a one inch opening. Will this brush fit?

Yes, the ones I have would fit, but the photo shown here looks different.

How many brushes are supposed to be included?

Two brushes were included in my order. One was bushy and bristly and the other really skinny like a pipe cleaner.

How wide are the bristles? Is this for cleaning fermenting bottles (which is what I want) or for straws? Are these stiff enough to clean a bottle?

Not in front of me but a couple inches around. I use it to clean sediment from the inside of antique beer bottles. Would not work for straws as the bristles are very stiff and my concern was getting them inside the neck of a beer bottle but it was not a problem.

what is the diameter of the brush?

According to the amazon description of the 16" long brush, the diameter of the bristle portion is 2.5" (images 3 & 4 of the ad).
