This knife holder looks and works great. The knife holder was exactly what I was looking for based on its size and price but I was worried about some reviews which stated that it wasn't strong enough and that knives would slide off rather than being held firmly in place by the magnet. After installing it I can tell you the magnet is more than strong enough, but low-quality knives will not stick firmly to it. My wife and I have a mix of expensive knives and as well as a few cheap ones - the expensive knives hold firmly in place and do not move at all, however the cheap knives slide down. The problem some people are having is not with the magnet, it's that low-quality/cheap metals are not magnetic enough for this type of knife holder. If you have expensive/good-quality knives then this holder is great and recommended.

HM Magnets goes above and beyond in describing how to properly use this knife holder on your refrigerator. Installation could not be easier. The magnet holds tightly to the fridge (and yes, mine is a pebbled surface. They go to great lengths to help troubleshoot any problems with a bumpy surface, but mine worked great.) The knives stay securely in place, even when you slam the fridge shut. Very attractive and stylish addition to my kitchen!!

12-31-25-Received this item today. So easy to place on my fridge. All my knives(10) were able to be securely placed on this very strong magnetic bar. I'm impressed with how good it looks and how well it fits in overall with my kitchen. Will definitely recommend to others. I typically do not write reviews for Amazon good or bad, but had to inform others this exceeded my expectations for sure.

Not quite what I wanted. Bought a little too quickly before reading through reviews and the Q&A. This is not what you want if you are wanting to attach this to a fridge or, in my case, the stainless steel back splash behind our stove top (the kind magnets stick to, not all stainless is magnetic). The backside has a metal plate with a couple of screw slots for mounting to the wall. This "shorts out" the magnetic field on the backside. I halfheartedly tried to pry that plate off, but felt I wouldn't be able to do it without damaging the sides of the knife holder so I gave up. After I received it and discovered this, I had to read several pages of reviews before I saw a review comment from the seller that this fact is mentioned in the product description. So I looked better at the product description and I don't see any mention of it there as of March 5, 2018. It is in the Q&A as they mention in that review comment. The knife holder seems to work well in trials so I will find use for it in the garage (I tried screwdrivers and other tools and it works great for those) as I have no wall space in the kitchen to mount it to and I am not too keen on trying mounting tape as mounting tape always seems to fail me. I did receive mounting screws (3 ea screws and drywall anchors, only two required for mounting). Some reviews mentioned no mounting screws received. -0.25 star for not mentioning the lack of backside magnetic ability in product description where I might have seen it more easily. -1 star for the template holes being 1 millimeter short. Some reviewers mention that the template is a bit off and it is. The mounting holes are 30mm as the seller mentions in the Q&A. Template holes were 29mm. Really not much excuse for that in this day and age. -0.25 star for scratch resistance. I am not a huge appearance guy but it does scratch very easily just putting knives on and taking (sliding) them off. Kind of the nature of stainless. I suppose you could put some clear packing tape across it if you are concerned about scratching. There is mention by the seller that they are working on one that is magnetic on the backside. I see the quality in the holder itself so I will look for that from this seller when that is available and would have no hesitation to buy one of those based on the holding ability of this one. Update (4/29/18): After further thought and some feedback and changes from the seller, I've changed my 1/2 pint deductions to 1/4 point deductions. I decided that the product itself is worthy of 4 stars, since it is a high quality product, and the the detractors should not detract as much as I did since they ultimately do not affect the performance of the product.

Works and looks awesome!!! The magnet is very strong to the refrigerator and for the knives!!! Would really recommend it!!! And it opens the counter space now because my knives are out of the way since they are on the magnetic holder!!!

Life changer! I love this magnetic knife holder it fits perfectly on the side of my refrigerator. I just purchased some high quality expensive knives and didn't want to put them in my kitchen drawer like the others. I also wanted to conserve my countertop space. This knife holder was the right decision with it being highly magnetic and the knives stay in place safely and out of the way. My knife holder did not require installation, but you do have that option. Great organization hack for me. Great item, great value!

I was very excited when my strip arrived. Immediately upon opening, it was evident how strong the magnetisation is. It was so easy to install, just watch out for those fingers when going to put it against your chosen surface! I was very impressed by how sturdy it looked. Due to having limited space, I was nervous about knives falling but I needn't worried, I have no doubt that the knives are not going anywhere. I was only disappointed that the strip didn't hold against my cooker's stainless steel splashback, but it works partfectly against the side of my fridge. A great option for renters as it'll self attach to the side of your fridge.
