I used these on a cable porch raining system I built using 1" steel tubing for the inside posts where the cable passed through. I had to use my bench grinder to shorten them enough to allow insertion of one on each side of the post. they look great, however, I am currently searching for shorter version as I have more to build and spent considerable time grinding to proper size. Completely my fault, and no dig on the manufacturer, these are quality and well made.

These go in easily and provide protection for the wooden 4X4 posts I used in my system. I am sure that without these, over time the cable would saw away at the wood. Reasonable priced and easy to use.

DIY with professional results

These sleeves provided a really clean look for installing steel cable railings in wood posts. I was able to use them in a post with the holes at an angle as well. The included drill bit is not great. I ended up using a regular 5/16 bit, but could probably have used something slightly smaller (9/32).

My first time installing cable railing and these were a must when passing through 4x4's. My railing look great and many of my neighbors have made many great comments about it. Give the railing a great clean look.

The inserts worked great for my 1 5/8” metal pipe railing posts. The bit they send is for wood posts so you need to use a 17/64” metal drill bit and gently ream the drilled hole or the inserts won’t fit tight. If you use a 9/32” drill bit the inserts are loose fitting.

We completed our deck with cord railing and this product was super easy to use with esthetically pleasing results

They seem solid and of good quality. Time will tell if they are truly 316SS. The drill bit is not that great though so, I used my own since I had a lot of holes to drill.May try other with a larger shoulder to cover the hole better.

Great product that is vital for the finishing touch. Don’t use the drill bit supplied as it is not rifled so it doesn’t clear the swarf. Also it exits badly.
